About Greater Jersey Region
GJR is proud to be the home of the most amazing chapters and teens in BBYO! Our region has over 1,400 teens and serves New Jersey from Bergen County to the Jersey Shore. We welcome any and all Jewish teens looking to partake in meaningful Jewish experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service with their friends. Please use this page to learn about BBYO, local, regional, and international events on the horizon, and how you can help support us.
Chapters in GJR meet every other week for regular chapter meetings and programs. Meetings include updates on upcoming events, fun/educational/interactive programs, and Israel updates. Chapters also host dances throughout the year for the entire region. Events are planned by teens, for teens and programming ranges from fun activities like ice skating and camping overnights, to communal Shabbat celebrations and leadership trainings. A parent, advisor, or regional staff member is always on hand to ensure safety and health.
Fun Fact: The Statue of Liberty is technically in GJR, as it is in New Jersey!
Through youth-led and staff-supported programs, BBYO GJR gives our members opportunities to develop leadership skills and positively affect their communities, the world, and themselves. We constantly strive to provide more Jewish teens with more meaningful Jewish experiences each and every day, so that they may become the future Jewish leaders in their communities and in the Jewish world at large.
