This members-only experience is bound to set the bar. All 9th and 10th grade KIO Region teens are invited to Camp Kern from September 27-28, 2024, for our New Member Overnight 2024! This will be your chance to meet other BBYO newcomers like you, engage in fun activities, and learn more about all of the fun opportunities BBYO has to offer! 

WHAT TO EXPECT 👀

New Member Overnight is a convention planned specifically for new 9th and 10th graders in BBYO. Programming during the weekend will revolve around the basics of BBYO: programming, history, how chapters function, and all the fun and unique KIO traditions. Participants will have the opportunity to meet other Jewish teens from Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio, learn all about BBYO and have a great time. Of course there will be plently of social moments throughout the weekend, including free time, late night socials and many fun surprises.

ATTENDEES: All new 9th and 10th graders who have yet to attend a New Member Overnight in the Kentucky Indiana Ohio (KIO) BBYO Region from Louisville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus along with our Chapter Morim, selected group of upperclassmen trainers, BBYO staff and advisors.

REGISTRATION:  Registration closes on Wednesday, September 18th at midnight. Late registrations will be accepted based on availability. The last day to receive a refund is September 19th.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships are available on BOTH the local and regional levels. Please reach out to your local City Director for more info on local scholarships in your community.

The deadline to submit scholarship applications is Sunday, September 15th at midnight. The scholarship form must be completed online  at:  https://bbyo.org/scholarship-form. Each family will be contacted, via email, by the regional office with the amount of scholarship awarded by Wednesday, September 18th. Once you accept the scholarship, the regional office will register you for the convention, and then you can pay the balance.  If you are requesting scholarship money, please do not register online until awards are announced. Scholarships will remain available after the deadline based on availability. 
 

HEALTH FORMS: BBYO works with CampDoc, the leading electronic health record system. All participants and parents are required to complete a health file before attending a BBYO convention. Once you have registered for the convention, you will receive an email inviting you to join CampDoc. Accept the invitation and complete or update all forms. These forms provide dietary, medical, and other important information. Teens will not be allowed to attend without a complete profile. 

TRANSPORTATION: All transportation to and from convention is included in your registration fee. Transportation and logistics emails will go out one week prior to the convention and will include transportation info and timing for each city.  Please note teens are never allowed to drive to BBYO conventions.

ACCOMMODATIONS  AND  WHAT  TO  BRING:  A detailed packing list will be sent out in the weeks leading up to the convention. The teens will be staying in cabins, with twin size beds. The food will be kosher-style – no mixing of milk and meat.
