Spring is just around the corner, and that means it's almost SPRING CONVENTION! MHR is so excited to invite you to our BBYO in-person spring convention at a beautiful camp in the Berkshires! Being at camp means we get all the things we love about MHR and BBYO, plus campfires, stars, and fresh air! This 3 day, 2 night event is the highlight of our spring term and you don't want to miss it. This weekend getaway is completely planned and led by BBYO teen leaders and is the premiere NYC showcase of the power and passion of BBYO. EARLY BIRD deadline to register at a discounted rate ends April 10 at 11:59pm!

Gerneral Registration: April 11th - May 1st

Q&A

Do I need to be a member of BBYO to attend Convention?
Yes, any 8th through 12th grade member of BBYO Manhattan Region is eligible to attend Convention. If you're not a member of BBYO but want to come to Convention, you'll first need to become a member by clicking HERE.  

Can 8th graders attend Convention?
Yes, Convention is now open to 8th graders!

What is included in the fee for Convention?
Your travel via coach bus, all meals (Friday dinner, All meals Saturday, Sunday breakfast and bus snacks), camp accommodations and linens, incredible speakers, an amazing song leader, fun programs, and more!

When does the early bird discount end?
The price of Convention is $375 until April 10 at 11:59 PM. It goes up to $425 after that.

What is the refund policy?
The deadline to request a refund is Wednesday, April 20 at 11:59 PM. All refund requests must be submitted via email to Amy at [email protected] prior to the deadline. Refund requests submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Is scholarship available?
Yes! Scholarship applications are due on April 17th at 11:59 PM. Apply here: Scholarship Form - BBYO

When does registration close?
Registration closes at 11:59pm on May 1 -- or when our bus fills up -- whichever comes first.

What should I pack for the weekend?
Expect a packing list from your Regional S'ganim the week prior to the event. 

What's the info regarding the bus?
We will be in touch about bussing details in the coming weeks.

Will BBYO provide excuses for school?
Yes, we are happy to provide written excuses so that you are able to leave school early on Friday. Please indicate on your registration form whether or not you're requesting an excuse and one will be emailed to you.

But why leave so early on Friday?
We leave early to 1) beat traffic and 2) arrive before the start of Shabbat.

Where do we sleep?
Teens will sleep in bunk beds in a shared cabin with other teens of the same gender. Everyone will have their own bed.

Will there be adult supervision?
Yes. Just like any BBYO event, adult staff and volunteers will be on hand to ensure the safety, security, and health of teen participants.We maintain a minimum ratio of 1 fully-background checked adult for ever 15 teens in attendance.

Will my dietary needs be accommodated?
Yes, please detail any allergies and/or dietary restrictions in your CampDoc.com responses. Just make sure you indicate this on the registration form. All meals are kosher.

I take medication. What do I do?
Teens are responsible for administering their own medication during Convention. Make sure you detail what medications you take on your CampDoc.com profile.

What's with this email I just got from CampDoc.com?
After registering for Convention you'll receive an email from CampDoc.com prompting you to complete your CampDoc profile. Teen registrant's profiles must be 100% complete by Thursday May 5 prior to Convention in order to attend. This is where we collect important health and safety information regarding teen participants.

I'm a little nervous about going to Convention. Is there anyone I can speak to more about it?
Yes! If you'd like to speak to some experienced teen Convention-goers, feel free to email our Regional S'ganim (VP's of Programming), Dalia (at [email protected]) or Sam (at [email protected]). COVID Vaccination! 
Teens attending Convention must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination must be uploaded in CampDoc!

Will we need to wear masks?
Everyone will remain masked throughout the weekend, other than when eating or drinking, and in the shared cabins.

Will I need to bring proof of vaccination?
Yes! Please bring your excelsior pass or your physical vaccination card. All teens, advisors, and staff will be fully vaccinated.

What are the start time and the end time?
Buses will be leaving NYC between 11:30 and 1:30, depending on which pick up location you are at.  We'll be leaving camp around 2:00 pm on Sunday, and it's about 2 hours to get back. We will be in touch about bus pickup locations soon!

Are you serving food?
Yes, we will provide kosher meals for everyone. We will also provide grab-and-go snacks and beverages all day long. If you are glatt kosher, please indicate this on the registration questions.

We strongly suggest you eat a filling lunch before arriving at the buses on Friday.
