Event Details

Our next and final in person convention of the year is here! Join us for Spring Convention 2022!!!!!! The convention will be held April 8-10 at Camp Bournedale in Plymouth, MA.

Spring Convention is for every 8th-12th grade Jewish teen involved with BBYO and any teen interested in becoming more involved in BBYO. Chapter leaders, chapter members, new members are all invited!. No leadership role or prior program participation is required to participate. Teens must be registered members of BBYO to attend convention.

Some highlights of Fall Convention:

  • A weekend overnight experience 
  • Spirit Cup Competitions, Sports and more outdoor activities
  • Make new friends you don't know yet or have only met virtually and hang out with old friends from all over Massachusetts and Rhode Island
  • Shabbat Experiences all weekend long including creative teen-led services, Havdallah, our guest returning songleader Julia Sabra and educators 
  • Fun and memorable programming led by our teen steering committee including Onegs, Spirit Activities and more
  • NER traditional activities including our Life Ceremony, Separates, States and more
  • Help elect our next NER Regional Board
  • Saturday night Dance Party and other non-dance activities

 

Cost: $375.00

Early Bird Fee: $355 between 3/4/22-3/20/22
Regular Fee: $375 between 3/21/22-3/30/22

Timing (subject to change)

Spring Convention registration will begin at 4pm on Friday 4/8.  Programming will begin at 5pm

Buses will be provided starting at 1:30pm, please check email for specific details of locations, we will provide buses from:

  • Acton
  • Natick (Metrowest Teens)
  • Auburndale (Newton/Needham/Brookline) teens
  • Andover
  • Marblehead
  • Sharon
  • Providence

We will be finishing programming by 2pm on Sunday 4/10

Scholarship
Scholarship is available on a limited basis, applications due by 3/20/22.  You must be logged into mybbyo to apply. There is no need to register for convention if you are applying to scholarship. Scholarship awards will be emailed by 3/23/22 by the end of the day.

Packing List

Packing Lists will be provided within 2 weeks of the event.  Depending on weather, we may encourage heavier clothing.

All teens must bring sleeping bags and pillows.

Rooming

Teens will be rooming in camp cabins, with 10-20 (one cabin has 20, most have 10-12) teens sharing a cabin.  Teens can still select one roommate in the questionnaire.

Cancellation Policy: The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for this program. Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (e-mail is acceptable), for any reason. After the registration deadline, partial refunds may be available based on convention expenses already paid (hotel, transportation, etc.). Within ten days of convention we’ve already confirmed final counts with our vendors, and no refunds will be given (unless a doctors note is received due to illness). “No shows” will not receive a refund.

Depending on registration, camp availability and transportation we may have to close registration earlier than  deadline and your teen will be placed on a waitlist.

 

In Person/Covid-19 policies:

  • All teen must be vaccinated to be in order to attend any overnight BBYO events including regional conventions. This is International BBYO policy, not just locally in NER.
  • All teens will be required to be masked when indoors and on the bus.  They will not be required to be masked for eating and when sleeping.
  • Teens will be required to present a negative at-home rapid antigen test OR 72 hour PCR test when getting onto the bus or arriving to convention.

Registration Questions and CampDocs:

  • There are registration questions to answer regarding which bus to take, roommate request, t-shirt size and more.
  • Please answer the allergy/dietary restriciton question so we request enough food.
  • All teens/families must fill out CampDocs information by 4/4/22 so we know allergies, physcial and mental health information and vaccine information along with other questions.
