Event Details

What is Fall Convention?
It's an overnight event packed with everyone's friends having the best time. It's an opportunity to unplug, learn, connect, and celebrate the fact that we are all in this together. Imagine sitting in a ballroom or playing at an indoor waterpark with teen leaders from around the region- sharing stories, tips, and ideas from the year, and building upon the relationships that formed months or years ago.

Conventions are a space where new members of the community can feel the energy and love of a global movement. A space for like-minded people to belong and learn new ideas, so they’re inspired to create the work that’s within them.

What will we do at Fall Convention?

We will celebrate Shabbat through friday night and saturday morning services as well as Havdalah on Saturday night. We will also have access to the indoor waterpark at Great Wolf Lodge included for all those registered.

Q&A

Questions? Contact the BBYO office: [email protected]

WHAT ARE THE MEALS LIKE? WHAT IF I HAVE A DIETARY RESTRICTION?

All BBYO meals are Kosher Style with vegetarian and vegan options. We ask for allergy information and food needs on the online medical form and we appreciate you sharing information as soon as possible so that we can accommodate specific food needs and limitations. All BBYO conventions are peanut and tree nut-free.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY?

The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for this program (October 13). Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (e-mail is acceptable), for any reason. On October 14 we will have confirmed final counts with our vendors, and no refunds will be given. “No shows” will not receive a refund.

WHAT IS BBYO'S DISCIPLINE POLICY?

As a reminder, when you registered for membership you signed BBYO’s Code of Conduct, which outlines our policies for substance abuse, property damage, and behavior guidelines with the full understanding of our behavioral expectations as a member of BBYO. Rules and guidelines will be made clear to all participants upon their arrival at convention opening. Should one of our teens choose to act outside of our Code of Conduct, the incident will be addressed by the appropriate staff members. We have a zero-tolerance approach to any violation of the Code of Conduct and any discipline matter that comes to the attention of staff. If you are (or your teen is) dismissed from BOTC for disciplinary reasons or Code of Conduct violations, BBYO staff will arrange for travel home immediately, at your family’s expense and without a refund.

WHAT ARE THE COVID PRECAUTIONS/POLICIES?

Our convention will be taking place in the Convention Center which is separated from the main hotel space. We have large spaces indoor in the convention center area that are being held specifically for us throughout the weekend as well as covered outdoor space that is reserved for us. This space will be used for meals, programming, and Shabbat services.

We do not have the entire hotel blocked/reserved when it comes to guest rooms and hotel amenities. We will likely have a block of rooms for teens and staff, but that will not be finalized until after registration closes on October 13. If teens are going to the waterpark or participating in the other activities that the hotel offers (ropes course, MagiQuest, etc.) there may be other guests.

Below are the current COVID protocols we have in place though they are subject to change based on local laws, regulations, and guidance:

  • Masks must be worn over the mouth and nose at all indoor programming by all attendees unless they are actively eating or drinking.
  • Note that at this convention masks will not be required when teens are at the waterpark, but will be needed as teens travel between spaces.
  • All adults present at convention must be vaccinated (staff, advisors, speakers, other volunteers)
  • All teens attending this convention (or any other overnight experience) must be fully vaccinated by Sunday, October 15.
  • Parents must complete the updated vaccination waiver for each of their teens by Wednesday, October 13. There are two ways to complete the form:
    1. Log into your MyBBYO account at bbyo.org
      • Go to "Vaccine Acknowledgement" under "Program Alerts"
      • Click "Complete Waiver" for each teen
    2. Go to bbyo.org/waivers/vaccination-acknowledgement and complete the form
  • Teens will not be able to complete this form as it is only available on parent accounts. Once this form has been completed, it will carry over for all future events.
