What is Regionals?
This is NTO's biggest convention of the year! It's an overnight event packed with everyone's friends having the best time. It's an opportunity to unplug, learn, connect, and celebrate the fact that we are all in this together.

Conventions are a space where new members of the community can feel the energy and love of a global movement. A space for like-minded people to belong and learn new ideas, so they’re inspired to create the work that’s within them.

What will we do at Regionals?

We will celebrate Shabbat through Friday night and Saturday morning services as well as Havdalah on Saturday night. We will hear from some amazing speakers on the topic of mental health. We will host a sports tournament (AZAA & BBGG) at Sportsplex. We will elect and install our region's next Regional Board.

Q&A

Questions? Contact the BBYO office: [email protected]

HOW ARE ROOMMATES MATCHED UP?

Our mutual request guarantee means that if Teen A requests Teen B, and Teen B requests Teen A, we will honor it. In a situation where Teen C requests Teen A or B we may also place them in a room together so that Teen C knows people. The hotel rooms at this convention hold 4 people. We typically put pairs of mutual requests together with other pairs. We will make sure that those without mutual requests are in rooms with teens from their chapter and / or their grade.

If there are issues going on with teens outside of BBYO, we appreciate knowing that information as soon as possible so we can set up our teens for success at all of our events. We are required to submit our guest list to the hotel 14 business days before the event, so any late registrations we allow may not get their roommate preference.

WHAT ARE THE MEALS LIKE? WHAT IF I HAVE A DIETARY RESTRICTION?

All BBYO meals are Kosher Style with vegetarian and vegan options. We ask for allergy information and food needs on the online medical form and we appreciate you sharing information as soon as possible so that we can accommodate specific food needs and limitations. All BBYO conventions are peanut, sesame seed and tree-nut free.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY?

The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for this program (December 1st). Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (e-mail is acceptable), for any reason. On December 2 we will have confirmed final counts with our vendors, and no refunds will be given. “No shows” will not receive a refund.

WHAT IS BBYO'S DISCIPLINE POLICY?

As a reminder, when you registered for membership you signed BBYO’s Code of Conduct, which outlines our policies for substance abuse, property damage, and behavior guidelines with the full understanding of our behavioral expectations as a member of BBYO. Rules and guidelines will be made clear to all participants upon their arrival at the convention opening. Should one of our teens choose to act outside of our Code of Conduct, the incident will be addressed by the appropriate staff members. We have a zero-tolerance approach to any violation of the Code of Conduct and any disciplinary matter that comes to the attention of staff. If you are (or your teen is) dismissed from BOTC for disciplinary reasons or Code of Conduct violations, BBYO staff will arrange for travel home immediately, at your family’s expense and without a refund.

WHAT ARE THE COVID PRECAUTIONS/POLICIES?

Our convention will be taking place in the lover-level meeting space, which is below the main hotel space. We have large spaces indoors in the meeting area that are being held specifically for us throughout the weekend. This space will be used for meals, programming, and Shabbat services.

We do not have the entire hotel blocked/reserved when it comes to guest rooms and hotel amenities. We will likely have a block of rooms for teens and staff, but that will not be finalized until after registration closes on December 1st. When heading to their rooms, they will likely see other guests in the elevators and on their floors.

Below are the current COVID protocols we have in place though they are subject to change based on local laws, regulations, and guidance:

  • Masks must be worn over the mouth and nose at all indoor programming by all attendees unless they are actively eating or drinking.
  • All adults present at the convention must be vaccinated (staff, advisors, speakers, other volunteers)
  • All teens attending this convention (or any other overnight experience) must be fully vaccinated by Friday, December 3rd.
  • Parents must complete the updated vaccination waiver for each of their teens by Friday, December 10th. There are two ways to complete the form:
    1. Log into your MyBBYO account at bbyo.org
      • Go to "Vaccine Acknowledgement" under "Program Alerts"
      • Click "Complete Waiver" for each teen
    2. Go to bbyo.org/waivers/vaccination-acknowledgement and complete the form
  • Teens will not be able to complete this form as it is only available on parent accounts. Once this form has been completed, it will carry over for all future events.
