Event Details

Are you an 8th, 9th, or 10th grader that wants to learn more about SJR and BBYO? 

Join us for SJR's first ever Next Gen Day!  This event is for 8th, 9th, and 10th graders that want to learn more about SJR and BBYO. 

Throughout the day, you'll have the opportunity to engage in meaningful programming with your Mock Chapter!  Activities will include competitions between chapters, learning traditions, and making bonds across the region.  Packed full of fun and new friendships, this is a day you won't want to miss!  Let's help bring in the Next Generation of SJR!

  • Place: Katz JCC
  • Date and Time: April 30th from 10:00 am-2:30 pm 

Please Note: We are asking that every particpant shows a negative RAPID COVID test upon arrival to the JCC. This can be an at home or rapid and needs to be from the day of the event.

To apply for scholarship:

  • Please note that you do NOT need to pay the registration fee for this event until after you have received your scholarship allocation.
  • Fill out the application at this link: https://bbyo.org/scholarship-form/.
  • Applications are due by Sunday, April 16th. Late applications will not be considered.
  • Scholarship announcements will be made Monday, April 17th to teens and families.
  • Registration closes on April 23rd at midnight.

New this year: FLASH SALE for Next Gen will be open for those that attended Tournies for 48 hours.  Next Gen will be $15 for those 48 hours.  After the price will go up to $20.

Q&A

What is the cancellation/refund policy for Next Generation Day?
The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for this program (Sunday, April 23rd). Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (e-mail is acceptable), for any reason.


What is BBYO’s COVID-19 vaccination policy?

As of March 2023, BBYO highly recommends -but does not require- each participant to be fully vaccinated for COVID -19. 

Participants must arrive with a phot of a negetive COVID-19 test taken the day of travel to their program or event with their name on the date written next to their test. At home tests are acceptable.

Is the food Kosher?
All food at conventions are kosher-style, meaning dairy and meat are not served together. However, the food served may not be cooked in a kosher kitchen. If you/your teens require strictly kosher food, please email Regional Staff at [email protected]  

My teen has a dietary restriction and/or allergy. Can you accommodate?
Yes - similar to the strict kosher option, we will ensure vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free meals are available if the Office is notified in advance. Please make sure to note this in the appropriate field in registration to ensure we can accommodate for your teen. All BBYO programs and events are nut-free.
