Event Details

Tournies is a 12 hour jam packed event where South Jersey Region BBYO’s chapters compete to win the Tower of Spam (Alephs) or Spirit Stick (BBGS). All who join us will experience fun engaging programming throughout the entire night, havdalah with your closest friends, chapter song, cheer, and so much more! There will be tons of games ranging from trivia to sports to scavenger hunts and even more. Help your chapter rack up points and win! You don’t want to miss one of the best events of the year.

  • If you are leaving early or arriving late, you MUST fill out this form

  • If you are Leaving Early, you must get picked up by Midnight. 

  • If you are coming late, you must arrive by Midnight.

Scholarship:

  • Please note that you do NOT need to pay the registration fee for this event until after you have received your scholarship allocation. Your scholarship allocation reserves your spot at Tournies at the registration price you submit during.

  • Fill out the application at this link: https://bbyo.org/scholarship-form/.

  • Applications are due by Sunday, March 3rd at 11:59pm. Late applications will not be considered.

  • Scholarship announcements will be made Tuesday, March 5th to teens and families.

  • Full balances are due March 24th. Teens with incomplete balances on March 24th will be cancelled from registration.

For 24 hours only (2/8 @ 5pm- 2/9 @ 5pm), Tournies will cost $95. Regular price for Tournies will be be from Friday, 2/9 at 5:01pm through Sunday, March 10 at 11:59 PM. On March 11th, the late registration fee will be applied, which will increase the price from $115to $150. Late registration will be available from Monday, March 11th through Sunday, March 24th at 11:59 PM.

Q&A

What is the cancellation/refund policy for Tournies?
The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for this program (Sunday, March 24). Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (e-mail is acceptable), for any reason. After the registration deadline (Sunday, March 24), partial refunds may be available based on convention expenses already paid (venue, transportation, etc.). Within ten days of convention (Wednesday, March 27th) we’ve already confirmed final counts with our vendors, and no refunds will be given. “No shows” will not receive a refund.

Is the food Kosher?
All food at conventions are kosher-style, meaning dairy and meat are not served together. However, the food served may not be cooked in a kosher kitchen. If you/your teens require strictly glatt kosher food, please email Regional Staff at [email protected]  

My teen has a dietary restriction and/or allergy. Can you accommodate?
Yes - similar to the strict kosher option, we will ensure vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free meals are available if the Office is notified in advance. Please make sure to note this in the appropriate field in registration to ensure we can accommodate for your teen. All BBYO programs and events are nut-free.

My teen takes medication. What is your process for handling medication?
Teens are expected to self-administer their own prescription medication throughout the course of the convention. We will not be collecting and distributing medication during the convention unless we receive a specific request from a teen’s parent.  If you would like to speak about your teen’s medication needs, please contact us.

Do I need to fill out anything else for Tournies?
Yes, Sports Waivers are required for your teen to arrend Tournies. You can fill out the Sports Waiver at this link.
