Keep your eye on the ball and your head in the game - it's time for WRC so Let The Games Begin! This will be an unforgettable convention where Wisconsin Region comes together for a weekend of competing as chapters, learning from dynamic speakers, electing new chapter boards, and celebrating ourselves along the way!

What is a convention you might ask? Conventions are overnight weekends packed with everyone's friends having the best time. It's an opportunity to unplug, learn, connect, and celebrate our incredible BBYO community in Wisconsin. Imagine being in a hotel with teen leaders from around the region- sharing stories, building new friendships, meeting influential speakers, and experiencing programming like never before. Now more than ever — with BBYO celebrating its 100th year —  we will have events and opportunities that have never been seen before.

This convention is open to all 9th-12th grade members in our region. Wisconsin Region is super excited to host you for WRC and we can't wait to go the distance together.

What is WRC?

WRC is Winter Regional Convention and it has been a mainstay for Wisconsin Region for generations. Your Weekend Coordinators will were chosen out of a huge pool of applicants and are being supported by an incredible steering committee. This convention will be open to all BBYO members (9-12 grade) to create meaningful Jewish experiences, community, and unforgettable experiences. This is a great time to bond with your chapter, meet other Jewish teens from around Wisconsin, win awards, do community service, celebrate Shabbat, and have fun all at the same time! It's an overnight event packed with everyone's friends having the best time. WRC is an opportunity to unplug, learn, connect, and remember why we all love BBYO. Conventions are a space where new members of the community can feel the energy and love of a global movement. A space for like-minded people to belong and learn new ideas, so they’re inspired to create the work that’s within them.

DO YOU OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS?
Yes, scholarships are available and are always granted. We never want the cost of a BBYO experience to impact a teen from participating in our events. We assure you, there is scholarship available for all teens that apply.

Teens will not be required to put down a deposit in order to apply for convention. The deadline to submit scholarship applications is Monday, November 6th. Scholarship forms must be completed online: Regional Scholarship Online Form.

The Wisconsin Scholarship committee will meet on Tuesday, November 7th to determine scholarship for participants. Teens and Parents will then be contacted via email that evening, and must claim their scholarship no later than Friday, November 9th at noon by replying to the email. Once your scholarship is claimed, Sarah will then go into the teen's account and reflect the scholarship. Should you no longer be interested in attending the convention after finding out your scholarship allocation, please let Sarah know so she can cancel your registration.

TO REGISTER

Register for Convention –  fill out our secure registration form below.

  • Make sure you are answering all questions – specifically those about food allergies

  • If you require a payment plan, but not a scholarship, email Sarah.

  • If you are having a problem registering, please call Sarah at 330.475.5067 or email at [email protected]

  • Refunds will not be given if you cancel on/after Thursday, November 23rd.

  • Should you have any issues with registration or with the scholarship form, please email Sarah.

REQUIRED FORMS: BBYO uses CampDoc, the leading electronic health record system.  All participants and parents are required to complete a health file before attending a BBYO convention. Once you have registered for the convention, you will receive an email inviting you to join CampDoc. Accept the invitation and complete all the forms. These forms provide dietary, medical, and other important information. Teens will not be allowed to attend conventions without completed forms.

*These forms need to be completed once annually. Many of you likely need to log on to your accounts and update your CampDoc profiles. Should you need any assistance, please contact Sarah at [email protected].

HOW ARE ROOMMATES MATCHED UP?

A benefit of signing up for convention during the Early Bird period is the ability to choose one roommate. Our rooms at convention hold 4 people. The team will do our best to guarantee that everyone receives at least one roommate request. All roommate requests that are mutual will be honored. We typically put pairs of mutual requests together with other pairs. We will make sure that those without mutual requests are in rooms with teens from their chapter and/or their grade.

We will email out a form for you to request one roommate after Early Bird has passed so everyone will submit at the same time.

If there are issues going on with teens outside of BBYO, we appreciate knowing that information as soon as possible so we can set up our teens for success at all of our events. We are required to submit our guest list to the hotel 14 business days before the event, so any late registrations we allow may not get their roommate preference.

TRANSPORTATION: Round-trip transportation will be arranged for Milwaukee teens. We are figuring out a plan for the Madison kids, so please stay tuned. Teens can not drive themselves to the convention.

SUPERVISION: The convention will be staffed by BBYO professionals and our Adult Volunteer Chapter Advisors. Sarah is currently working on a security plan for the convention weekend, which will include security officers throughout the weekend. She will continue to update us as she develops the plan for the weekend. Sarah is working with the Milwaukee Jewish Federation to develop this plan along with BBYO professionals.

ACCOMMODATIONS AND WHAT TO BRING: Please bring enough clothes for 3 days and 2 nights, athletic clothes for the sports tournament, toiletries, Wisconsin/Chapter Spiritwear, and AZA/BBG pins. Teens who are registered plus their parents will receive a packing list about a week before the convention.

COVID-19 Policy:

BBYO follows the CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19 vaccination and as a result, highly recommends each participant be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including the most recent booster available. Boosters are an important part of protecting yourself or those around you from getting seriously ill or dying from COVID-19. BBYO is following the guidance of many public health institutions, scientists, and medical professionals who have led the battle against the coronavirus and are recommending that people be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. For additional information, please review our official COVID-19 Policy document.

Teens are no longer required to provide a negative covid test to attend the convention.

Should a teen test positive, they will not be permitted to attend. As part of our commitment to one another in creating a safe and respectful community, we expect families to honor these requirements. Teens exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms at any immersive activity may be tested at any point. This policy is subject to change based on CDC guidelines and/or guidance from BBYO’s Medical Advisory Committee.

While BBYO does not require masking at events, we invite participants to wear masks should they wish to do so. We encourage everyone to respect the individual choices made by others as it relates to masking.

WHAT ARE THE MEALS LIKE? WHAT IF I HAVE A DIETARY RESTRICTION?
All BBYO meals are Kosher and catered by Hannah's Kitchen. It will be a combination of vegetarian and kosher meat options. The Wisconsin team is still finalizing the menu and will provide it as we get closer. We ask for allergy information and food needs on the online medical form, and we appreciate you sharing information as soon as possible so that we can accommodate specific food needs and limitations. All BBYO conventions are peanut and tree-nut-free, and because of Sarah's allergy, they will also always be fish-free. A menu will be shared with those registered for the convention via email prior to the convention. Should you have any questions regarding meals, please contact us at [email protected]

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY?
The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for this program (Wednesday, November 22nd at 11:59 PM). Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (e-mail is acceptable), for any reason. Any cancellations received on/after Thursday, November 23rd will not be able to receive a refund. The reason for this hard deadline is needing to provide final counts to our vendors. “No shows” will not receive a refund. There are no exceptions to this policy.

WHAT IS BBYO'S DISCIPLINE POLICY?
As a reminder, when you registered for membership you signed BBYO’s Code of Conduct, which outlines our policies for substance abuse, property damage, and behavior guidelines with the full understanding of our behavioral expectations as a member of BBYO. Rules and guidelines will be made clear to all participants upon their arrival at the convention opening. Should one of our teens choose to act outside of our Code of Conduct, the incident will be addressed by the appropriate staff members. We have a zero-tolerance approach to any violation of the Code of Conduct and any disciplinary matter that comes to the attention of staff. If you are (or your teen is) dismissed from convention for disciplinary reasons or Code of Conduct violations, BBYO staff will arrange for travel home immediately, at your family’s expense and without a refund.
