Is your teen thinking about or in the process of applying to college this fall?
BBYO’s emphasis on leadership and community can make academic decision-makers take notice of one's application. Why? College admissions officers look for experiences that prepare students for success in college and beyond. Not only that, but strong leadership skills, a commitment to community service, and the ability to work collaboratively with others, gives teens an advantage to highlight in their applications and interviews.
To underscore this, our CEO, Matt Grossman, connects with over 130 college admissions officers every year in this letter, where he highlights aspects of the BBYO high school experience that catalyze a successful college career. This fall, Matt’s message focused on how teens are not only learning to be effective leaders but also actively standing against hate and discrimination. He shared that, as BBYO members prepare for college, “they understand the tensions on campus and are not afraid to take guiding roles in activities that strengthen communities when and where there are willing partners.”
