BBYO GENESIS FELLOWSHIP

The BBYO Genesis Fellowship is a paid, full-time 2-year immersive fellowship program offering professional experience working alongside BBYO teen leaders and an opportunity to learn all the facets of a not-for-profit business!

Candidates selected for this prestigious Fellowship will work within an assigned community during the school year. Throughout the Fellowship, participants will gain a plethora of experience and skills including opportunities to:

  • Work with and engage different BBYO departments and teams;
  • Gain a variety of resume-building skills, such as budgeting, marketing, sales, and event planning;
  • Learn how to analyze and interpret data to drive decision making;   
  • Develop influence and leadership acumen as you inspire others to action;  
  • Build relationships as you network with parents, teens, and stakeholders in BBYO communities;    
  • Receive tailored 1:1 coaching throughout your time in the Fellowship.

Ariella Altchouler

Ariella Altchouler



Ariella was born and raised in Cleveland but lived in Israel for the past ten years until she recently relocated back to Cleveland with her husband. She received her BFA in photography from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem as well as a teaching degree from the Levinsky College for Education in Tel Aviv. Ariella is excited to get reacquainted with Cleveland and is thankful for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing organization. She can’t wait to meet and start working with teens.
Abraham Barnes

Abraham Barnes



Abe is originally from Oakland, California, and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in sports marketing and management and a minor in Jewish Studies. Abe is excited to return to the organization that helped him grow so much in high school. He is looking forward to gaining new experiences while building professional skills and meeting great people along the way. In his free time, Abe loves to watch and play sports, including baseball, basketball, and football.
Lillian Brown

Lillian Brown



Lily graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor's degree in media studies and a minor in journalism. She is excited to begin her Genesis Fellowship in BBYO Nassau Suffolk Region. After years of involvement with BBYO in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, she is eager to connect with new people and deepen her relationship with an organization that has greatly impacted her life. In her free time, she loves traveling—having recently completed a Semester at Sea— spending time with friends and enjoying the company of any and all animals.
Hannah Fritts

Hannah Fritts



Hannah was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and is an alumna of BBYO North Texas Oklahoma Region. She graduated from Elon University with a degree in middle grades education. Hannah sees the value of informal educational settings and what can’t always be taught in a classroom. This has strengthened her passion for what she knew to be true: BBYO allows Jewish teens to better understand who they are by learning how to elevate each other's voices as peers and community builders. Hannah loves all things yoga, travel, and cooking and can’t wait to see what’s in store in her new role!
Brandon Kaufman

Brandon Kaufman



Brandon is from Irvine, California and graduated from the University of Southern California with a major in public relations and a minor in communication design. Brandon is an active member of the local Jewish community and enjoys connecting people with shared values together in a fun space. He especially loves to host events and connect people to new friends! Brandon loves audiobooks, watching TV, and exploring the various pizza places around town. He is excited to continue working with the teens in CRW and learning from other fellows.
Emily Kolodney

Emily Kolodney



Emily is from Austin, Texas and an alumna of BBYO Lonestar Region. She graduated from Muhlenberg College with a degree in Judaic studies and religious studies. In addition to being a former International S’ganit and International N’siah, Emily has been involved with BBYO as an AZA & BBG Movement Intern for the past three years. She is passionate about leadership development and community building and looks forward to contributing her skills and enthusiasm to the fellowship program!
Eva Muir

Eva Muir



Eva has found herself drawn to working in the Jewish non-profit world since her graduation from SUNY New Paltz with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and women’s, gender and sexuality studies. Eva moved to Philadelphia in 2022 and began volunteering in BBYO Liberty Region and staffing IC the past two years. Eva loves seeing the moments of Jewish joy between BBYO teens and being a part of the Jewish community. In her spare time, you can find her drinking iced coffee, going on walks, and listening to The Avett Brothers. She is excited to continue her BBYO journey in SJR!
Julia Senise

Julia Senise



Julia is delighted to be Big Apple’s Genesis Fellow! She is excited to be working with the region she was heavily involved in during her time in BBYO. A graduate of SUNY New Paltz, Julia studied international relations, Jewish studies, and theatre performance. She is thrilled to bring her passion for strengthening the Jewish community to this role and is eager to form meaningful connections through the fellowship and throughout her region.

Amanda Baritz

Amanda Baritz

Location: Florida
Gold Coast Region

Amanda Baritz, born and raised in sunny South Florida will soon be graduating from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelors degree in Social Work. In her free time, Amanda enjoys going to the beach, hanging with her friends, arts and crafts, taking naps and watching movies. She is most excited to work for bbyo and to be apart of this fellowship because shes want to learn more about the organization that has given her so much over the past 8 years.
Leah Cooper

Leah Cooper

Location: Colorado
Rocky Mountain Region

Leah Cooper, originally from Annapolis Maryland, graduated from Elon University in 2022 and quickly moved to Denver to start her fellowship journey working with the Rocky Mountain Region community. She enjoys spending tons of time with family, working with Special Olympics, and ultimately found her home in BBYO. Some of Leah’s favorite things are hiking, traveling, befriending dogs and anything DIY- especially sewing/embroidery. She is looking forward to the next two years of new experiences, professional development, and continuing to build strong relationships in the community!
Alexis Daniel

Hudson Valley Region

Alexis Daniel is a recent graduate of Muhlenberg College. During her time as a teen, she was very active in Hudson Valley Region and is so excited to give back to the community that changed her life. Over the last year and half, she had the opportunity to intern with GJHRR, which solidified for her that she wanted to stay with BBYO full-time. Within this fellowship, she is most excited to see how the different departments operate so she can see what makes our movement so strong!
Taylor Divello

Taylor Divello



Taylor Divello, a Chicago native now residing in Phoenix, graduated in May 2023 from Arizona State University and majored in Communication and minored in Special Events & Tourism. Outside of work she loves playing and watching sports, trying new restaurants, traveling, and going to the gym. In regards to the Fellowship and working with BBYO she is most excited to meet new people and expand her network as well as further develop her skills!

Rachel Feldman is from Southern California and a BBYO alumna. She graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Rachel is incredibly excited to join BBYO and can’t wait to contribute to the team as a Genesis Fellow!

Anna is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor's in Communication Studies and a Music minor. Living in California her whole life, Anna was a BBYO teen and has been working with her home region, Central Region West, since June 2022. Anna is so excited to be among the first cohort of the Genesis Fellowship and learn alongside the other Fellows over the next two years!
Lindsey Greenstein

Lindsey Greenstein, who works with Greater Atlanta Region, graduated with a B.S. in Family Science and Human Development from the University of Maryland. As a JCC employee, she is most excited to get to know her BBYO coworkers better and to add a new role to her day to day. A few fun facts about Lidnsey: She works at Free People on the side, LOVES the show New Girl, and is originally from Miami! Lindsey can't wait for the next 2 years with such a great group of people.
Rebekkah Lerman

Rebekkah Lerman

Lonestar Region

Rebekkah Lerman is so thrilled to be Lonestar’s new Genesis Fellow! She is a proud Arizona native but wanted a little change of scenery which brought her to the great state of Texas! Rebekkah graduated from the University of Arizona in 2021 with a degree in Public Health and then went on to pursue her second degree in Nursing at Creighton University. BBYO has always been one of Rebekkah’s  main passions since she became a teen in Mountain Region #47! She has staffed everything from CLTC as a Madricha, IC for the past 3 years, and even CLTC 3 this past summer! Rebekkah is excited to get to know all of the other fellows and form some amazing bonds with them as they go on this journey together. She is so excited to be able to learn more about the behind the scenes of the BBYO magic and of course to serve her wonderful teens in Lonestar!
Shira Rosen

Great Midwest Region

Shira Rosen, originally from Los Angeles, graduated from Indiana University in 2022, where she studied Psychology, Marketing, and Photography, is excited to join the Midwest Region! Shira recently participated in Masa Israel Teaching Fellows (MITF) where she taught English in an Israeli elementary school in Rishon LeZion. She was selected to be on a panel speaking to the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, about Jewish leadership. Shira is passionate about empowering others to find their voice in the Jewish world. She is thrilled to be a part of such an amazing organization and combine all of her passions and interests. In Shira’s free time she loves to travel, cook, and go on walks, and can’t wait to explore Chicago!
Isaac Rudofker

Isaac Rudofker, from Voorhees, NJ, studied at Syracuse University and has a degree in Psychology. He loves to watch movies and Survivor, and poke bowls are his favorite food. Issac is so excited to grow and develop as a professional while helping his region be as successful as it can be.
Zoe Schoenhaus

Location: Washington, DC
Northern Region East-DC Council

After graduating from the University of Maryland in May 2022, Zoe decided to move down to the DC area from my hometown in New Jersey. She is so excited to join the BBYO Genesis Fellowship to learn more about the non-profit industry and to experience all the departments that go into making BBYO so incredible. In her spare time, you can catch her shopping, reading, and exploring DC.
Zachary Tabachnikoff

Location: Charlotte
Eastern Region

Zachary Tabachnikoff, a Florida State University graduate, studied hospitality with a focus in event event management. He is so excited to have the opportunity to start his career with the organization to which he credits so much of his success in life to. He is looking forward to so many new professional skills and experiences, as well as making some great friends along the way. In his free time, Zachary loves playing sports, and his favorites are volleyball and baseball.
Ashley Waller

Location: Savannah
Eastern Region

Ashley Waller, from Louisville KY, graduated from the University of Louisville (Go Cards!) with a degree in Elementary Education. She loves to travel and meet new people and is excited to be part of the Genesis Fellowship to combine both passions. Ashley has loved BBYO and can't wait to see what the next 2 years have in store!
David Weinstein

David Weinstein

Location: Connecticut
Connecticut Valley Region

Hailing from West Harford, Connecticut, David double majored in Political Theory & Constitutional Democracy and Spanish at Michigan State University where he enjoyed attending basketball games in his free time. He loves creating meaningful experiences for the teens he works with. Through the Genesis Fellowship, he is excited to meet fellow like-minded individuals and learn critical professional skills needed to find success in the workplace. He has a great love for soccer, both playing and following it, and enjoys watching and collecting films.
Bella Zeitz

Location: Texas
North Texas Oklahoma

Bella Zeitz spent most of her life in Texas, growing up in Houston and moving to the DFW area to attend the University of North Texas. She graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She loves spending time with her friends and family, and will take any chance to show off her cat. Bella credits BBYO for her passion for nonprofit work, her Jewish identity and more. She looks forward to working with the teens in the NTO Region to ensure they have the best BBYO experience possible and reach their fullest potential.
 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who should apply for the Genesis Fellowship?
Candidates seeking to gain valuable experience working with teens and acquire professional skills across a variety of business areas should apply. The Fellowship offers an opportunity to develop expertise both within and beyond the Jewish professional community. Accepted Fellows must commit to a 2-year program and meet all BBYO employment requirements. If you’re adventurous, passionate about working with young people, and driven to make a positive impact in the world, the BBYO Genesis Fellowship is for you!

When will applications open?
Applications will re-open again in January 2025.

When does the Fellowship start?
The term of the next 2-year Genesis Fellowship begins July 2025, with some pre-boarding taking place in June.

What are the compensation and benefits for the Fellowship?
BBYO Genesis Fellows will earn a competitive salary in their first year of the Fellowship, and, in their second year, will be eligible for a performance-based raise as well. An overview of BBYO’s benefits and perks can be found on our Careers page here.

What happens after the Fellowship?

During the mid-point of the second year, BBYO Fellows will work with their manager and Fellowship lead to determine next steps after the Fellowship has concluded.  Next steps could include a promotion within a Fellow’s current department, working towards a new role in a different BBYO department, or obtaining BBYO’s support in helping Fellows seek out a new role in another Jewish non-profit organization.
