Event Details

Spring is just around the corner, meaning it's almost SPRING CONVENTION!

Joined once again with Hudson Valley and Manhattan Regions, BBYO New York is back and better than ever at Camp Ramah. Teens will engage in tri-regional sports competitions, teen led programs, Shabbat experiences, and so much more throughout this 3 day, 2 night event that perfectly encapsulates our spring term. Convention is such a magical time, and being at camp allows us to combine all the amazing aspects of BAR and BBYO with campfires, athletics, singing under the stars, and fresh air. And on Sunday, we will elect our 47th Regional Board!

Don't miss out on such an incredible weekend with over 200 teens from the NYC area!

Bus Information: We are excited to have THREE bus locations this year - Temple Sholom, Park Slope Jewish Center, and the Samuel Field Y!

Scholarship: If you are in need of scholarship, please do not register at this time and fill out the scholarship form at https://bbyo.org/scholarship-form. At this link, you will be able to select which teen you are applying for (if you have multiple in your family) and then select the correct event. Scholarship Applications are due Tuesday, April 16th at 11:59pm, following which staff will be in touch to register you.

Q&A

This is my first BBYO Immersive experience. What is expected of me?

Do I need to be a member of BBYO to attend Spring Convention?

When does registration close?
Registration closes at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, May 8th.

What should I pack for the weekend?
Expect a packing list from your Convention Coordinators the week before the event.

What's the info regarding the bus?

We are excited to have THREE bus locations this year - Temple Sholom, Park Slope Jewish Center, and the Samuel Field Y! You will be asked which bus location you are selecting (or if you prefer to be dropped off by car at camp) during registration. Teens are not allowed to drive themselves to/from camp or to/from the bus stops.

Buses will depart camp by 2 pm on Sunday, May 19th.

Can I drive myself to Spring Convention?

Teens are not allowed, under any circumstance, to drive themselves to overnight events, this includes to/from the bus stops as well. We hold BBYO teen's safety and security to the highest standard and driving home after a tiring weekend is something we do not allow. If you are in a jam, please reach out to [email protected] and we can help coordinate a ride for you.

Will BBYO provide excuses for school?
Yes, we are happy to provide written excuses so you can leave school early on Friday. Please email Regional Director Yair for a school excusal note: [email protected]

But why leave so early on Friday?
We leave early to 1) arrive before the start of Shabbat and give teens enough time to get ready and 2) beat traffic!

Where do we sleep?
Teens will sleep in bunk beds in a shared cabin with other teens of the same gender. Everyone will have their own bed. Each cabin has an attached bathroom with multiple stalls.

Will there be adult supervision?
Yes. Like any BBYO event, adult staff and volunteers will be on hand to ensure teen participants' safety, security, and health. We maintain a minimum ratio of 1 fully-background checked adult for ever 15 teens in attendance.

What's with this email I just got from CampDoc.com?
After registering for Convention, you'll receive an email from CampDoc prompting you to complete your CampDoc profile. Teen registrants' profiles must be 100% complete by Wednesday, May 8th, before Convention to attend. This is where we collect essential health and safety information regarding teen participants.

Will my dietary needs be accommodated?
Please detail any allergies and/or dietary restrictions in your CampDoc responses. Just make sure you also indicate this on the registration form. All meals are kosher.

I take medication. What do I do?
Teens are responsible for administering their medication during Convention. Make sure you detail what medications you take on your CampDoc profile.
