Event Details

It's time for NTO to take a look into the future at our regional convention - B’yachad L’tid “Together for the Future!”. This will be an unforgettable weekend where NTO comes together for a weekend of celebrating all that we’ve accomplished and larger-than-life activities and speakers!

What is a convention you might ask? Conventions are an overnight weekend packed with everyone's friends having the best time. It's an opportunity to unplug, learn, connect, and celebrate our large and ever-growing community in North Texas and Oklahoma. Imagine being in a hotel with teen leaders from around the region- sharing stories, building new friendships, meeting influential speakers, and experiencing programming like never before. Now more than ever — with BBYO celebrating its 100th year —  we will have events and opportunities that have never been seen before.

This convention is open to all 9th-12th grade members in our region. NTO is super excited to host you for Regionals and can’t wait to build our future together, one Jewish teen at a time.

What is B'yachad L’tid Convention?

Welcome to the future of NTO! This term's Regional Convention will be called B'yachad L’tid, meaning “together for the future”. As we enter our centennial year as a movement we want to reflect that same idea of “future” in our regional convention, conveying the idea that we are a strong community that will stay together as NTO for the future. Your Weekend Coordinators will be the 39th Regional S'ganim Madelyn Levy and Jordan Feldman. This convention will be open to all BBYO members (9-12 grade) to create meaningful Jewish experiences, community, and unforgettable experiences. This is NTO's biggest convention of the year! It's an overnight event packed with everyone's friends having the best time. It's an opportunity to unplug, learn, connect, and celebrate the fact that we are all in this together for the future of our movement. Conventions are a space where new members of the community can feel the energy and love of a global movement. A space for like-minded people to belong and learn new ideas, so they’re inspired to create the work that’s within them.

What will we do at Regionals?

We will celebrate Shabbat through Friday night and Saturday morning services as well as Havdalah on Saturday night. Teens will get the opportunity to attend various programs with guest speakers, and engage in meaningful conversations regarding Israel. Then Saturday night teens will spend the night dancing and going to an off site sports tournament!  Additionally, over the weekend we will hear the State of the Region by our 39th Regional Presidents, Ashley and Harrison. We will have the opportunity to celebrate our chapters with programming and individual awards. On Sunday, we will elect our 40th Regional Board, followed by Destallation of the 39th Regional Board and Installation on the 40th Regional Board. Get ready for a jam packed, but fun weekend!

DO YOU OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS?
Yes, scholarships are available and are always granted. We never want the cost of a BBYO experience to impact a teen from participating in our events. We assure you, there is scholarship available for all teens that apply.

Teens will not be required to put down a deposit in order to apply for convention. The deadline to submit scholarship applications is Monday, October 30th. Scholarship forms must be completed online: Regional Scholarship Online Form.

The NTO Scholarship committee will meet on Tuesday, October 31sh to determine scholarship for participants. Teens and Parents will then be contacted via email on Wednesday, November 1st, and must claim their scholarship no later than Friday, November 3rd at noon. Once your scholarship is claimed, Courtney will then go into the teen's account and reflect the scholarship. Should you no longer be interested in attending the convention after finding out your scholarship allocation, please let Courtney know so she can cancel your registration.

REQUIRED FORMS: BBYO uses CampDoc, the leading electronic health record system.  All participants and parents are required to complete a health file before attending a BBYO convention. Once you have registered for the convention, you will receive an email inviting you to join CampDoc. Accept the invitation and complete all the forms. These forms provide dietary, medical, and other important information. Teens will not be allowed to attend conventions without completed forms.

*These forms need to be completed once annually. Many of you likely need to log on to your accounts and update your CampDoc profiles. Should you need any assistance, please contact Courtney at [email protected].

HOW ARE ROOMMATES MATCHED UP?

Teens are allowed to submit up to three requests as the hotel rooms at this convention hold 4 people. The team will do our best to guarantee that everyone receives at least one roommate request. All roommate requests that are mutual will be honored for filling a full room. We typically put pairs of mutual requests together with other pairs. We will make sure that those without mutual requests are in rooms with teens from their chapter and/or their grade.

If there are issues going on with teens outside of BBYO, we appreciate knowing that information as soon as possible so we can set up our teens for success at all of our events. We are required to submit our guest list to the hotel 14 business days before the event, so any late registrations we allow may not get their roommate preference.

Example of Mutual Rooming Request:

  • Courtney submits “Bella, Ashley, Madelyn” for her requests
  • Bella submits “Courtney, Ashley, Madelyn” for her requests
  • Ashley submits “Courtney, Bella, Madelyn” for her requests
  • Madelyn submits ‘Courtney, Bella, Ashley” for her requests

TRANSPORTATION: Round-trip transportation will be arranged for Tulsa teens. Dallas teens need to be dropped off and picked up at the hotel. Teens can not drive themselves to the convention.

SUPERVISION: The convention will be staffed by BBYO professionals and our Adult Volunteer Chapter Advisors. We will also have a nurse and wellness specialist onsite throughout the weekend. Additional staff include a BBYO Jewish Education Consultant and Song Leader. Courtney is currently working on a security plan for the convention weekend, which will include security officers throughout the weekend. She will continue to update us as she develops the plan for the weekend. Courtney is working with the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas to develop this plan along with BBYO professionals.

ACCOMMODATIONS AND WHAT TO BRING: Please bring enough clothes for 3 days and 2 nights, athletic clothes for the sports tournament, toiletries, NTO/Chapter Spiritwear, and AZA/BBG pins. Teens who are registered plus their parents will receive a packing list about a week before the convention.

COVID-19 Policy:

BBYO follows the CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19 vaccination and as a result, highly recommends each participant be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including the most recent booster available. Boosters are an important part of protecting yourself or those around you from getting seriously ill or dying from COVID-19. BBYO is following the guidance of many public health institutions, scientists, and medical professionals who have led the battle against the coronavirus and are recommending that people be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. For additional information, please review our official COVID-19 Policy document.

Teens are no longer required to provide a negative covid test to attend the convention.

Should a teen test positive, they will not be permitted to attend. As part of our commitment to one another in creating a safe and respectful community, we expect families to honor these requirements. Teens exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms at any immersive activity may be tested at any point. This policy is subject to change based on CDC guidelines and/or guidance from BBYO’s Medical Advisory Committee.

While BBYO does not require masking at events, we invite participants to wear masks should they wish to do so. We encourage everyone to respect the individual choices made by others as it relates to masking.

WHAT ARE THE MEALS LIKE? WHAT IF I HAVE A DIETARY RESTRICTION?
All BBYO meals are Kosher Style and mostly vegetarian and vegan. The NTO team is still finalizing the menu and will provide it as we get closer. We ask for allergy information and food needs on the online medical form, and we appreciate you sharing information as soon as possible so that we can accommodate specific food needs and limitations. All BBYO conventions are peanut and tree-nut-free. A menu will be shared with those registered for the convention via email prior to the convention. Should you have any questions regarding meals, please contact us at [email protected]

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY?
The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for this program (Wednesday, November 15th at 11:59 PM). Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (e-mail is acceptable), for any reason. Any cancellations received on/after Thursday, November 16th will not be able to receive a refund. The reason for this hard deadline is needing to provide final counts to our vendors. “No shows” will not receive a refund. There are no exceptions to this policy.

WHAT IS BBYO'S DISCIPLINE POLICY?
As a reminder, when you registered for membership you signed BBYO’s Code of Conduct, which outlines our policies for substance abuse, property damage, and behavior guidelines with the full understanding of our behavioral expectations as a member of BBYO. Rules and guidelines will be made clear to all participants upon their arrival at the convention opening. Should one of our teens choose to act outside of our Code of Conduct, the incident will be addressed by the appropriate staff members. We have a zero-tolerance approach to any violation of the Code of Conduct and any disciplinary matter that comes to the attention of staff. If you are (or your teen is) dismissed from BOTC for disciplinary reasons or Code of Conduct violations, BBYO staff will arrange for travel home immediately, at your family’s expense and without a refund.
