About Us
Eastern Region #6 covers four states: Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, across three councils:

Virginia Council (VAC) includes chapters in Charlottesville, Richmond, and Virginia Beach.

North Carolina Council (NCC) includes chapters in Asheville, Charlotte, Chapel Hill/Durham, Greensboro, Lake Norman, and Raleigh.

Southeast Council (SEC) includes chapters in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Savannah.
For decades, Eastern Region has connected Jewish teens to leadership opportunities, meaningful friendships, and immersive Jewish experiences. Eastern Region empowers teens to build confidence, develop leadership skills, strengthen their Jewish identity, and make a lasting impact in their communities.
Today, more than 600 Jewish teens participate in BBYO across Eastern Region through local chapters, regional experiences, and international opportunities. BBYO welcomes all Jewish teens in grades 8–12, regardless of background, level of observance, or previous Jewish involvement. Across the region, teens participate in AZA (male-identifying) chapters, BBG (female-identifying) chapters, and co-ed BBYO chapters, creating welcoming communities where every teen can find their place.
Eastern Region Chapters
Chapters are at the heart of the BBYO experience. Through regular chapter programming, teens build friendships, take on leadership roles, and create meaningful Jewish experiences. Eastern Region has over 20 chapters throughout all three councils.
Programs are planned by teens, for teens, with guidance and support from advisors and staff. Whether attending their first chapter event or leading a regional initiative, teens are encouraged to shape their own BBYO journey.
Beyond the Chapter Experience
While local chapters provide a teen’s home community, membership opens the door to experiences across the region and around the world.
Eastern Region teens can participate in member-exclusive opportunities including regional conventions and leadership opportunities, summer experiences, and International Convention.
Through these experiences, teens build a global Jewish network while developing skills that stay with them long after high school.
Becoming a Member
You do not need to be a BBYO member to attend many local events and explore the BBYO community. We encourage teens and families to connect with a local chapter, attend an event, and meet other teens.

Fun Fact: The lion is Eastern Region’s mascot, and each council has its own signature color: VAC is Classic Red, NCC is Cobalt Blue, and SEC is Sunshine Yellow.
