2022 Eastern Region Regional Convention: December 16th-18th , Durham, NC
ATTENDEES: All 9th - 12th grade BBYO members from Eastern Region
PURPOSE: This convention brings together our Eastern members for 3 days of creative and thought-provoking programs as well as our traditional regional programs – celebrating Shabbat, life membership for seniors, AZA/BBG business meetings, limmud electives, a dance, the annual Regional’s talent show and Shuk. COST AND REGISTRATION: The cost of convention is $390 not including transportation. Transportation will be $60 for any teens riding a bus and the link to register will be sent once convention registration closes.
When registering, each teen will have the opportunity to request ONE roommate. We will do our best to accommodate these requests but CANNOT make any guarantees. We will give priority to teens who request each other.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships are available for Regional Convention. The deadline to submit scholarship applications is Sunday, November 13th at midnight. The scholarship form must be completed online at: https://bbyo.org/scholarship-form. Each family will be contacted, via email, by the regional office with the amount of scholarship awarded the week of November 14th. Once you accept the scholarship, the regional office will register you for the convention and then you can pay the balance. If you are requesting scholarship money, please do not register online until awards are announced.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS AND FORMS: Beginning in August 2021, BBYO is requiring all teens, staff, and advisors attending any overnight programs (chapter, city, council, regional, and international programs) based in the United States to be fully vaccinated (vax date plus two weeks). Currently, Moderna, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, or Johnson & Johnson are the accepted vaccines. To fill out your vaccine acknowledgement for please follow the directions below:
- Go to bbyo.org and sign into your account
- Under program alerts, you will see vaccine acknowledgement with the name of each of your teens and a button for the waiver
- Click on complete waiver
- Please read through entire waiver, sign and click submit
- Reminder: this will NOT show up on a teen account only a parent account
BBYO works with CampDoc, the leading electronic health record system. All participants and parents are required to complete a health file before attending a BBYO convention. Once you have registered for the convention, you will receive an email inviting you to join CampDoc. Accept the invitation and complete or update all forms. These forms provide dietary, medical and other important information. Teens will not be allowed to attend without a complete profile. All CampDoc information is due NO LATER THAN October 19th.
SUPERVISION: The convention will be staffed by BBYO professionals and chapter advisors. There will be 1 staff person for every 15 teens.
ACCOMMODATIONS AND WHAT TO BRING: We will be staying in a hotel for this convention. Teens should bring toiletries, clothes for Shabbat, casual clothes for the weekend, musical instruments, etc. We will be sending out a full packing list closer to convention.
