Do I need to be a member of BBYO to attend Winter Convention?
Yes, any 8th through 12th grade member of BBYO Manhattan Region is eligible to attend Convention. If you're not a member of BBYO but want to come to Convention, you'll first need to become a member by clicking HERE.  

Can 8th graders attend Convention?
Yes, Convention is now open to 8th graders who are members of BBYO! 

What is included in the fee for Convention?
Your travel via bus, all meals friday dinner - sunday lunch, hotel accommodations and convention speakers and programs. 

When does the early bird discount end?
The price of Convention is $400 until November 15 at 11:59 PM. It goes up to $450 on November 16th - December 2nd

What is the refund policy?
The deadline to request a refund is Friday, November 18th at 11:59 PM. All refund requests must be submitted via email to Emmy at [email protected] prior to the deadline. Refund requests submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Is scholarship available?
Yes! Scholarship applications are due on November 10 at 11:59 PM. Apply here: Scholarship Form - BBYO

When does registration close?
Registration closes at 11:59pm on November 23rd -- or when our bus fills up -- whichever comes first. Be sure to save your spot today! 

What should I pack for the weekend?
Your Regional S'ganim and staff will be sending out a packing list the week prior to Winter Convention.

What's the info regarding the bus?
Buses will be leaving from the UWS, JCC Manhattan around 1:00pm on Friday, December 9th.

The bus leaves at 1:00pm. Will BBYO provide excuses for school?
Yes, we are happy to provide written excuses so that you are able to leave school early on Friday. Please email Emmy at [email protected] for a letter. 

But why leave so early on Friday?
We leave early to beat traffic and arrive before the start of Shabbat.

Where do we sleep?
Teens will sleep in double hotel rooms with members of the same gender. 

I don't want to share a bed. Can I select fewer roommates?
Yes. If you want to upgrade to a room with only one other person, the fee for the weekend is $475 for Earlybird, and $500 after the Earlybird deadline. If this is somthing you are intrested in please email Emmy at [email protected].

Will there be adult supervision?
Yes. Just like any BBYO event, adult staff and volunteers will be on hand to ensure the safety, security, and health of teen participants. We maintain a minimum ratio of 1 fully-background checked adult for ever 20 teens in attendance.

Are you serving food?
Yes, we will provide vegetarian, kosher style meals for everyone throughout the weekend. If you are glatt kosher, please indicate this on the registration form. We strongly suggest you eat a filling lunch before arriving at the buses on Friday.

Will my dietary needs be accommodated?
Yes, please detail any allergies and/or dietary restrictions in your CampDoc.com responses.  All meals at convention are kosher style, if you need a glatt kosher meal please indicate this on the registration form.

I take medication. What do I do?
Teens are responsible for administering their own medication during Convention. Make sure you detail what medications you take on your CampDoc.com profile.

What is this email I just got from CampDoc.com?
After registering for Convention you'll receive an email from CampDoc.com prompting you to complete your CampDoc profile. Teen registrant's profiles must be 100% complete by Wednesday, November 30th prior to Convention in order to attend. This is where we collect important health and safety information regarding teen participants.

I'm a little nervous about going to Convention. Is there anyone I can speak to more about it?

Will we need to wear masks?
At this time masks are not required. Please be aware that this is subject to change.

Will I need to bring proof of vaccination?
Yes! All teens, advisors, and staff are required to be fully vaccinated in order to attend Winter Convention.
