Q&A

What are the important dates we need to know?

  • Sunday, January 24th: Registration opens - Early Bird pricing of $75. Scholarship applications open! Apply here!

  • Sunday, January 31st: Early Bird pricing ends. Price increases to $90.

  • Wednesday, February 17th: If you register past this date, there is no guarantee you will get all of the items in the swag pack.

  • Sunday, February 21st: Scholarship applications due by 11:59pm and will then be closed.

  • Thursday, February 25th: Scholarship Allocations Announced

  • Sunday, February 28th: Registration closes at 11:59pm.  No refunds will be given after this date.  No late registrations will be accepted. (See full cancelation policy below)

  • Friday, March 5 - Sunday March 7th: FRAT/SIS!!

What is the cancellation/refund policy? The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for each program. Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (email is acceptable) for any reason. After the registration deadline (Sunday, Feb 28th at 11:59pm) we've already confirmed final counts and no refunds will be given for any reason. "No shows" will not receive a refund.

Can I register after the registration deadline? Late registrations will be accepted only if we have not yet placed our supply order. For the lowest price and to make sure you get your full your swag bag, we strongly recommend registering before February 17th.

Are there an unlimited number of convention spots? Yes! due to our event being 100% virtual, we are able to accept any members who are interested in joining us!

Why does a virtual convention cost money? Great question! While virtual conventions are much, much cheaper than in-person conventions ($75/$90 vs. $299/$335 for Frat/Sis last year), there are still some costs associated with it. The convention fee helps cover convention supplies (programming materials, apparel, software purchased for convention, etc.), guest speakers and workshop programming, staff and more. Extensive scholarship is available, and we strongly encourage you to apply. There is an opportunity to list why you are applying for a scholarship (COVID related barriers, teen paying for convention, family expenses, etc.) that may paint a bigger picture.

I hear there is a special promotion you are running for new members and teens who recruit them.  What does that entail?

We are thrilled to be offering this promotion to our PWR community!  Any teen that registers to be a new PWR BBYO member and also registers for Frat/Sis between the dates of January 24th and February 28th will get 50% off of their Frat/Sis registration fee.  For any current PWR member that recruits these new members who sign up for Frat/Sis, they will get $20 off their registration per person.  So that means, if you recruit 5 new members, you can get Frat/Sis for free!

If I am eligible for this promotion, why am I paying full price on the website and how will I get my discount?

Great question! After you pay for Frat/Sis and after registration closes, Regional Staff will refund the money to each registrant's account according to if they are a new member or one who did the recruiting.  We are tracking this information with a google form.  So, if you are a new member, please make sure to fill it out and put the person's name who recruited you. You can find the form here

CONVENTIONBACKGROUND

  • Who is this convention for? Frat/Sis is for every Jewish teen registered for membership with BBYO PWR! Chapter leaders, chapter members, new members, 8th graders, freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are all invited. No leadership role or prior program participation is required to participate. Teens must be registered members of BBYO to attend BOTC.

  • Why should I attend convention? BBYO conventions are one of the things that teens look most forward to during the school year. With all of the changes in teens’ lives over the past year, we’re excited to offer an experience that will be different in looks, but with all of the same BBYO traditions we hold near and dear. Programs are guaranteed interactive and our teen steering committee is working hard to ensure these are programs PWR has never seen before.

  • Where will I be? For the entire convention, you’ll be joining us remotely via Zoom. For some programs, you’ll be given suggestions of where to be to create the optimal atmosphere (ex. Outside, in a comfy spot, with your families, at a desk/table, etc.).

  • How will participants meet new people and interact with their regional friends if programming is mostly virtual? Our convention leadership team and steering team are working to ensure programming allows for new connections to be formed. Whether it be in a breakout room or assigned to a Big/Little, you'll be sure to make many memories together.

  • What are BBYO's online community standards? Linked here are the guidelines for engaging in BBYO programming online.

  • Please note that the BBYO Code of Conduct still applies to all virtual and in-person events
