Q&A

What are the important dates we need to know?

  • Monday, April 19th: Registration opens - Early Bird pricing of $80. Scholarship applications open! Apply here!

  • Friday, April 30th: Early Bird pricing ends at 11:59pm. Price increases to $95.

  • Friday, May 7th: If you register past this date, there is no guarantee you will get all of the items in the swag pack.

  • Sunday, May 16th: Scholarship applications due by 11:59pm and will then be closed.

  • Tuesday, May 18th: Scholarship Allocations Announced

  • Thursday, May 20th: Registration closes at 11:59pm.  No refunds will be given after this date.  No late registrations will be accepted. (See full cancelation policy below)

  • Friday, May 28th - Sunday May 30th:SPRING CONVENTION!

What is the cancellation/refund policy? The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for each program. Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (email is acceptable) for any reason. After the registration deadline (Thursday, May 20th at 11:59pm) we've already confirmed final counts and no refunds will be given for any reason. "No shows" will not receive a refund.

Can I register after the registration deadline? Late registrations will be accepted only if we have not yet placed our supply order. For the lowest price and to make sure you get your full your swag bag, we strongly recommend registering before May 7th.

Why does a hybrid convention cost money? Great question! While hybrid conventions are much, much cheaper than in-person conventions ($80/$95 vs. $299/$335 ), there are still some costs associated with it. The convention fee helps cover convention supplies (programming materials, apparel, software purchased for convention, etc.), guest speakers and workshop programming, staff and more. Extensive scholarship is available, and we strongly encourage you to apply. There is an opportunity to list why you are applying for a scholarship (COVID related barriers, teen paying for convention, family expenses, etc.) that may paint a bigger picture.

CONVENTIONBACKGROUND

  • Who is this convention for? Spring Convention is for every Jewish teen registered for membership with BBYO PWR! Chapter leaders, chapter members, new members, 8th graders, freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are all invited. No leadership role or prior program participation is required to participate. Teens must be registered members of BBYO to attend Convention.

  • Why should I attend convention? BBYO conventions are one of the things that teens look most forward to during the school year. With all of the changes in teens’ lives over the past year, we’re excited to offer an experience that will be different in looks, but with all of the same BBYO traditions we hold near and dear. Programs are guaranteed interactive and our teen steering committee is working hard to ensure these are programs PWR has never seen before.

  • Where will I be? Friday night will be 100% virtual programming.  Saturday will have several hours of in person programming. Locataion and time block TBD.

  • How will participants meet new people and interact with their regional friends if programming is mostly virtual? Our convention leadership team and steering team are working to ensure programming allows for new connections to be formed. Whether it be in a breakout room or assigned to a "cabin", you'll be sure to make many memories together.

  • What are BBYO's online community standards? Linked here are the guidelines for engaging in BBYO programming online.

  • Please note that the BBYO Code of Conduct still applies to all virtual and in-person events
