BBYO Kicks Off Milestone 100th Anniversary Year in Omaha, Nebraska, the Birthplace of Where It All Began

OMAHA, Neb.—This week, teen leaders from every BBYO community around the world and across the Movement, will gather in Omaha, Nebraska—the birthplace of the Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA)—for the August Executives Conference, marking the start of BBYO’s Centennial anniversary year. Filled with energy and excitement, over one hundred Aleph and BBG community presidents are convening in Omaha to engage with their global counterparts, participate in special programming and events and set the vision for the upcoming centennial year.

Since BBYO’s founding in 1924, its mission and purpose remain unchanged—to unleash the power of youth. As the Movement embarks on its milestone centennial year, BBYO continues to be a place where Jewish teens form their fondest memories, develop leadership skills, establish lifelong friendships, advocate for causes they care about and find meaning in their Jewish heritage. Nowhere is this more evident than at August Execs, where teen leaders come together to vote on peer-led legislation impacting thousands of fellow members and build the time-tested AZA and BBG leadership skills and connections that will enhance their home communities around the world.

“As members of BBYO’s teen leadership body, we have the privilege of focusing on how to lead our communities, strengthen the impact of community programming, celebrate our chapters, and ensure that as many Jewish teens as possible have an opportunity to experience BBYO in all 725 of our chapters worldwide,” said Jordan Nogg and Adria Tipp, teen co-presidents of BBYO Mid-America Region: Omaha Council. “We look forward to the outcomes of this conference as well as the next 100 years as we continue the proud legacy and history of BBYO across the globe.”

As BBYO ushers in the next century of involving even more Jewish teens in more meaningful experiences, supporters and friends can look forward to experiencing an exciting year filled with laughter, memories, and celebrations, including:

• Reunions around the world organized by alumni in honor of BBYO's 100th birthday
• Large-scale centennial celebratory events for alumni and supporters in ten select cities
• A once-in-a-lifetime centennial International Convention (IC) over Presidents Day weekend in Orlando, Florida, marking not only the largest gathering in the world for Jewish teens, but welcoming the largest alumni and adult community to IC in its history
• The kickoff of BBYO’s Centennial Campaign, an opportunity for long-time supporters to make philanthropy-defining gifts that will lead BBYO into a new century of impact, with a goal of securing commitments of $200 million by June 2025
