Welcome to bbyo.org (the "Site," "us," or "we"), an online destination connecting Jewish teens. The Site is operated by B'nai B'rith Youth Organization, Inc. ("BBYO"). These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern your use of BBYO's online services ("Services"), including participation in forums, emails, and other activities.
By using or registering on any part of the Site, you agree to comply with these rules. If you do not accept this Agreement, please do not use the Site.

The Site is intended for Jewish teens aged 13 until they graduate from high school, as well as their parents, BBYO alumni, BBYO Chapter Advisors, Volunteers, and donors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 13. By using the Site, you certify that you meet these eligibility criteria and have the authority to agree to these terms. Verification: If you are under 18, your use may require parental/guardian consent, which we will verify during registration.
By using the Site, you agree to follow these Terms of Service. This Agreement remains in effect as long as you use the Site. Even if your membership or access is terminated, you are still bound by obligations under this Agreement, including indemnifications and limitations of liability.
Privacy Policy: Our Privacy Policy is part of this Agreement by reference.
To participate in various Site activities, you must complete a registration process and choose a username and password. Your username and password are personal and should not be shared with others.
Security Measures:
- Use strong, unique passwords.
- Enable two-factor authentication if available.
- Notify us immediately if you detect any unauthorized use of your account.
Username Guidelines: Usernames must not be vulgar, impersonate others, or violate any rights. We reserve the right to reject any username we deem inappropriate.
Account Responsibility: You are responsible for all activities under your account. If you suspect any unauthorized use, please contact us immediately.
We may change this Agreement at any time. Changes will be posted on the Site and may also be emailed to you. Continued use of the Site after changes are made signifies your agreement to the updated terms.
User Notification: Significant changes will be highlighted with a summary at the beginning of the document and through user notifications.
BBYO and its licensors own all rights to the content and materials on the Site. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use the Site’s materials without express written permission.
User-Generated Content: When you submit content to the Site, you grant BBYO a license to use, reproduce, and display your content. This includes the right to adapt, publish, and distribute the content.
Respect for Others: BBYO respects the intellectual property of others and expects users to do the same.
Copyright Infringement Claims: Contact Aryeh Furst at [email protected] to report claims of copyright infringement. Provide detailed information as required by law for us to take action.
Users are expected to use the Site respectfully and legally. Prohibited activities include:
- Violating intellectual property rights.
- Posting harmful, obscene, defamatory, or illegal content.
- Engaging in spamming, phishing, or fraudulent activities.
- Impersonating others or providing false information.
Content Moderation: BBYO may monitor and remove content that violates these rules.
Reporting Violations: Report any content that violates these rules to [email protected].
Non-Commercial Use: The Site is for personal, non-commercial use only. Do not use the Site to promote businesses or commercial activities.
Users are responsible for their own postings and interactions on the Site. All postings should be for personal, non-commercial use.
Content Use: BBYO may use user-generated content under a perpetual, royalty-free license. Users retain ownership of their content.
Moderation Process: Content that violates our rules may be removed, and users may be banned. BBYO reserves the right to monitor disputes between users but is not obligated to do so.
Emails sent to BBYO should be from the registered account holder. We will use your email address for administrative purposes and to respond to your inquiries.
Privacy: Non-personal content sent to us by email may be treated as non-confidential. We may use such content for any purpose without restriction.
Email Identity: Do not mask your identity by using a false name or someone else’s email.
BBYO may provide links to third-party websites. These links are for convenience and do not imply endorsement of the content or practices of such sites.
User Interaction with Third-Parties: Any interactions with third-party advertisers or linked sites are solely between you and the third party. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of linked sites.
The Site may offer goods and services for sale. BBYO is not liable for products or services sold through third-party links.
Refund Policy: Refer to the specific terms and conditions for returns and refunds of purchased goods.
Secure Transactions: We take steps to ensure that transactions are secure. If you have concerns about a transaction, please contact us.
Pricing Errors: If a product is listed at an incorrect price due to an error, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders placed for that product. If your credit or debit card has been charged, we will issue a credit to your account in the amount of the charge.
Order Confirmation: Our creation or transmission of an order confirmation does not signify final acceptance of your order. We reserve the right to accept or decline your order until the product is delivered to you.
Sales Restrictions: Products are offered for sale only to end-user customers or as personal gifts, not for commercial resale. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed in violation of these restrictions.
Taxes: You are responsible for any taxes imposed on the sale or use of products. Applicable taxes will be added to your purchase total.
BBYO reserves the right to terminate user accounts at any time for any reason. Users whose accounts are terminated may have their postings removed.
Process and Criteria: Users can contact us to appeal a termination decision. We will review the case and respond promptly.
You agree and understand that we may, at our sole discretion, terminate your membership or registration at any time, delete any or all of your Postings, or block access to the Site and/or any other service provided to you. The Site reserves the right to take such actions, with or without notice, for any reason or for no reason, and without any liability to the account holder or user.
BBYO may modify or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.
User Impact: We will not be liable for any modifications or discontinuations of the Site. We strive to inform users about significant changes in advance when possible.
Users must not engage in activities that compromise the security of the Site. Prohibited actions include unauthorized access, probing the Site's vulnerabilities, and spreading malware.
Reporting Security Issues: Contact us immediately if you detect any security vulnerabilities or breaches. We take security seriously and will address issues promptly.
Prohibited Actions:
- Accessing data not intended for you.
- Attempting to breach the Site’s security.
- Sending unsolicited commercial emails or "spamming."
- Forging any part of the header information in emails or newsgroup postings.
You agree to indemnify BBYO and its affiliates against any claims arising from your use of the Site or violations of this Agreement.
Legal Cooperation: Users agree to cooperate with BBYO in the defense of any claims. We may assume control of the defense and settlement of any claims.
The Site and its content may contain technical inaccuracies, typographical errors, and outdated information. BBYO makes no representations about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of the Site or the content.
Use at Your Own Risk: You understand and agree that your use of the Site and its content is at your own risk. The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind.
Disclaimer of Warranties: To the fullest extent permitted by law, BBYO disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
No Guarantee of Availability: We do not guarantee that the Site will operate error-free or that the Site and its servers are free of computer viruses or other harmful mechanisms.
Limitation of Liability: In no event shall BBYO, its parent company, affiliates, or their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, or service providers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, compensatory, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, or from any content or material on the Site.
Jurisdictional Limitations: Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
Aggregate Liability: Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, the maximum liability for BBYO to any user for all claims arising from your use of the Site or any content is limited to $1.00.
No Responsibility for Third-Party Links: We are not responsible for any damages or losses caused by your use of or reliance on any content, advertising, or business practices of linked third-party websites.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the District of Columbia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the District of Columbia.
Dispute Resolution: Users agree to resolve disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods before pursuing legal action.
Severability: If any part of this Agreement is found invalid, the remaining parts will remain in effect.
Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and BBYO regarding the use of the Site. Any changes must be in writing and posted on this page.
