Get Ready to Voice Your Vote

BBYO Voice Your Vote is a global, non-partisan campaign to rally teens, adults, alumni, and community partners to get involved in their local democracies. We have four key goals for the campaign: (1) run voter registration drives, (2) recruit teens to work the polls, (3) host elected officials at events, and (4) write to our local offices. Teens from around the world can participate in this initiative.

If you have questions or want to get more involved, reach out to the International Mazkirim at [email protected] and [email protected]. A committee on the International Leadership Network is driving this initiative.

Run a Registration Drive

Audience: ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Regardless of personal politics, we all agree that every citizen has the right to voice their opinion in our democracy and vote as they wish. It's our patriotic and Jewish responsibility to celebrate our democracy, embrace our freedoms, and cast a vote that does the most good for the most people.

Weโ€™re partnering with New Voters to help you run Voter Registration drives. Theyโ€™ll connect you with a mentor, and youโ€™ll get access to their full team of support to help you get set up and hit your goals. Whether itโ€™s at your school or your synagogue, one of the most important things that you can do (besides registering yourself) is get other people to register.

If you're not old enough to vote yet, you can still make sure your friends, family, and community members who can vote do.

Rabbi Yitzhak said: One may only appoint a leader over a community if he consults with the community.

Talmud Berakhot 55a

Democracy has been a core value of the Jewish People since the beginning of our tradition. Judaism instills values in us that help inform our choices so that we can ensure our world is made better than we found it. We must choose leaders that represent the best of our community's ideals, hopes, and values, and we are privileged to live in a society where we can have a say in that decision. Democracy works best when we all take part.

A Note for First-Time U.S. Voters 🇺🇸

Voting rules vary from state to state. Whether you're preparing to vote for the first time or helping someone else get to the polls, find information about registration deadlines, same-day registration, voter eligibility, and key election dates so you're ready before Election Day. Check out vote.gov for more information!

In many states (more than 50%), you can register to vote before you turn 18. See if you are eligible.
