Eastern Region

Southern Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Southeastern Georgia

About Us

Eastern Region consists of three councils: Virginia, North Carolina, and Southeast. Virginia Council includes chapters in Charlottesville, Newport News, Richmond, and Tidewater. North Carolina Council includes chapters in Asheville, Charlotte, Chapel Hill/Durham, Greensboro, Raleigh, and Wilmington. The Southeast Council includes Augusta, Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Savannah. Today, more than 600 Jewish teens participate in BBYO Eastern Region.

Eastern is led by professional staff, volunteer advisors, and elected teen leaders serving on AZA and BBG councils and regional boards. Teens enjoy local chapter experiences as well as two annual teen-led conventions focused on community service, Jewish life, brotherhood/sisterhood, athletics, and more.

Chapters hold weekly or bi-monthly events throughout the region. All programs are planned by teens, for teens, and range from social activities like bowling and bonfires to experiences centered on leadership development and social justice. Advisors and staff are present at every program to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
