BBYO is grateful for all the ways parents and caregivers support our organization. Together, we work to help teens learn from their experiences and grow as responsible, independent young adults. 

BBYO staff are highly motivated, trained professionals, who care deeply about empowering Jewish youth. A strong partnership between parents/caregivers and staff is essential to creating positive experiences and ensuring the safety of all teens, staff, and advisors. To support this meaningful connection, we ask all parents and caregivers to agree to the following commitments: 

• Be a positive role model by demonstrating respect and courtesy to BBYO staff, advisors, teens, and guests. This includes refraining from using threatening, hateful, bullying, intimidating, or violent behavior and/or language—whether in-person, by phone, email, text, social media, or any other means.
• Treat teens, BBYO staff, BBYO advisors, and any volunteers or speakers with respect.
• Review the BBYO Code of Conduct and Community Standards with your teen and support BBYO’s enforcement of these standards.
• Respect the boundaries set by BBYO staff, including contact hours, media usage, and communication.
• Do not discriminate against or harass BBYO staff, advisors, teens, or guests. For more information, see BBYO’s Anti-Harassment and Discrimination policy.
• Do not provide or allow alcohol, edibles, e-cigarettes, Juuls, marijuana, tobacco products, etc., in any BBYO teen programming space.
• Should BBYO staff or policy dictate that your teen needs to go home from a program, arrange for their transportation home within 24-hours. 

If a BBYO staff member feels these commitments have not been adhered to, they may report the issue to their supervisor. If a parent or caregiver fails to abide by these rules and guidelines, they or their teen may be subject to disciplinary action, which may include, but is not limited to, any of the following:

• Verbal warning to the caregiver or teen by BBYO leadership staff
• Additional disciplinary consequences for the teen
• Removal of teen from BBYO programming
• Suspension of teen from BBYO programming
• Cancellation from or inability to register for future BBYO programming

We value the partnership between BBYO and our families, as it plays a crucial role in shaping the experiences of teens. By upholding these commitments, parents and caregivers contribute to a positive, respectful, and supportive environment that benefits everyone in the BBYO community.
