A virtual summer 2020 favorite lands at its new home in Perlman Camp in summer 2021! Movement Makers is geared toward 10th and 11th grade members who want an exclusive 12-day leadership development program later in the summer. Teens will learn how to take their leadership to the next level through enhancing collaboration and communication skills. Small group and classic camp activities make this the perfect way to grow and have fun this summer.

BBYO has instituted a COVID fee of $100 per participant per session to cover expenses such as food service, cleaning, facility upgrades and additional medical supplies and personnel

Cost: $2,250.00 (due by 05/31/2021)
Deposit Amount: $250.00

Is Movement Makers for you?
Movement Makers is a great program for Alephs and BBGs currently in 10th or 11th grade who are unable to fit ILTC into their summer who are current or aspiring regional leaders, have attended regional leadership conventions or CLTC (though not required), or have an interest in leading, within or outside of BBYO!

Who staffs Movement Makers?
BBYO programming professionals and advisors serve as the site director, program director, leadership director, and leadership staff at Movement Makers. We’re also joined by Jewish educators, song leaders, Israeli counselors (sh'lichim), expert specialists, college-age counselors (madrichim), and an office manager.

What is the Movement Makers curriculum about?
Movement Makers' primary focus is on leadership at the council, regional, and International level. Teens focus on developing a wide range of leadership skills including effective team collaboration, communication strategies, and relationship building, as well as learning how to shape a worldwide movement. Leadership skills are taught in a classroom environment and through hands-on, interactive activities in BluePrint groups. Jewish learning happens daily during Limmud sessions and, especially, at teen-led Shabbat, morning (Shacharit), and evening (Mincha) services.
Is the food at Movement Makers Kosher?
Perlman Camp is a Kosher facility that only serves foods that have been produced under rabbinical supervision.

What do I do about medication?
Participants must register in advance with CampMeds, a service that provides pre-packaged, pre-dosaged medication to participants who require it. There is a $250 fee for those who do not register and arrive at camp with their medications. The exceptions to this are inhalers, birth control, epi-pens, nasal sprays, injectable medications, prescription ointments, and refrigerated medication.

How do I get to Movement Makers?
Teens can either be dropped off directly at camp by a parent or guardian, or they can fly into the local airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, NJ (EWR), where they'll be met by BBYO staff and taken to their program by bus.
