Experiencing Texas Two-Step
For my sightseeing activity at International Convention, I went to Billy Bob's Texas, the world's largest honky tonk. After taking a group picture upon arrival, our group entered the building. We were met with dozens of pictures and items on the wall, full of authentic Texas items from cowboy hats to guitars to pictures of celebrities. We then were led through an area filled with arcade tables and pool tables into an area with a large dance floor. We learned about five different line dances, one of which included a variation of the Cotton-Eyed Joe with partners. After, we shopped around in the gift shop. We then left and separated for lunch, and everyone got food from all over the common area.
I’ve been to three ICs, and this was by far my favorite sightseeing activity I’ve been to. I really enjoyed the authenticity and culture that this offered, and I believe this was an experience truly unique to Texas.
