Learning to be the Host with the Most
Make the best experience for the customer—that’s what all four guest speakers had in common at the "Host with the Most" LEADS day program. We were joined by speakers who are all professionals in the hospitality industry. One was Kate Lieberman, the Vice President of Guest and Artist Services at Live Nation Entertainment, the biggest event promoter and venue operator in North America.
During this program, the speakers informed us about what they do on a daily basis for their jobs. They deal with everything from training the person who scans the tickets in the front to booking hotel rooms for the performers. Their job is to make sure everything is appealing to the customer. “If someone were to go to a concert, you want them to say how they loved the service, food, venue, decor... and then that the band was great as well.” The participants also wrote out a plan for a friend who is visiting their city. We planned everything from getting off the plane up until being dropped off at the airport, factoring in all kinds of things like the specific time of year. This was definitely an incredible experience and opened minds for careers for these teens in the future.
