Top 10 Millennials That You Probably Didn’t Know Were Jewish
The definition of a millennial is “a person reaching young adulthood in the early 21st century”. When you think of Jewish Celebrities many people’s thoughts go straight to names such as Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Seinfeld, etc. However, there is a huge population of millennial Jewish celebrities that many people just don’t know are Jewish! Here is a list of the top 10 famous Jewish millennials that you probably did not know were Jewish.
1. Timothee Chalamet
Chalamet is an actor from New York from Russian and Austrian descent. He is most known for his roles in Homeland, Call Me by Your Name, Little Women, and Lady Bird.
2. Pete Davidson
Many do not know that Saturday Night Live actor, Pete Davidson, his father was actually Jewish! He is best known from SNL, dating pop singer Ariana Grande, or his stand-up comedy specials
3. Ansel Elgort
Ansel Elgort was born in 1994 in Manhattan and his father was of Jewish descent.. He is best known for playing leads in movies such as The Fault In Our Stars, Baby Driver and Divergent!
4. Beanie Feldstein
Feldstein is best known for her supporting roles in Lady Bird, Booksmart and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. What a great addition to the Jewish community!
5. Ben Platt
Ben Platt is often recognized for his role as the original “Evan Hansen” in the broadway production Dear Evan Hansen. Platt also plays a supporting lead in the Pitch Perfect series and is the star of the new Netflix original series, The Politician. Platt also recently released his first album titled “Sing to Me Instead”.
6. Alexander Gould
Although you may not recognize him by name, Gould plays the voice of the family favorite character, Nemo! He voices the little fish in both Finding Nemo as well as the sequel, Finding Dory. Gould can also be recognized for his role in the show, Weeds.
7. James Maslow
That’s right, James from Big Time Rush is Jewish! Maslow is best known for being a part of the band Big Time Rush, as well as his role as James on the Big Time Rush TV show.
8. Joey King
California born and raised, King is an up and coming Jewish actress. Her most notable roles are those of The Conjuring, White House Down, Fargo and the Netflix original film, The Kissing Booth.
9. Cameron Boyce
Cameron Boyce made his first on-screen appearance in a Panic! At The Disco music video, which led to his career picking up. After getting signed on by Disney, Boyce played a lead role in the show Jessie, and was also a part of the Disney Channel Original film Descendants, as well as it’s two follow up films. Sadly, he recently passed away.
10. Troye Sivan
Australian singer, songwriter Troye Sivan is Jewish! Sivan is best known for his hit albums Bloom, Blue Neighbourhood and TRXYE.
Who knew there were so many up and coming Jewish celebrities in film and music?! Next time you watch a movie or listen to your favorite album, make sure to double-check because your favorite celebs could be Jewish too!
