College Applications and Why To Get Them Done Early
Coming out of junior year, I thought this year was extremely hard, senior year is going to be a breeze. Then, college applications hit. There soon became the comparison of whether junior year and senior year were worse.
I see the common app as being one of my main enemies; It takes forever to fill out. At the same time, it was also very helpful to only have to fill it out once. There was so much happening at once, and after writing my college essay, I expected to be almost done.
My motivation was shot, and with everything on my plate, there was already so much pressure, and I just didn’t want to fill the rest of the website out. I knew that once I finished, there would be relief from the pressure and the stress of it.
With each application came more essays–the supplementals. I had heard so much about how bad they were going to be, but I had no clue what was coming. I hit a roadblock. I had no clue what to write about for some of the prompts. It was a very slow process, but they finally started to come along. I was able to start hitting that submit button.
I went through the panic that I wasn’t going to get in anywhere. I made a reel showing all of the work I’d done, but I didn’t think it was going to be enough. On November 1st, I logged onto my portals to check to see if my transcripts made it to the school. I saw on the Plattsburgh website that there was a decision letter. I was shocked, being that my application was sent in about two weeks ago. So why not open it? That next day, I was even more shocked. During the ninth period, an email popped up from Michigan State saying my status was updated. Woah. Acceptance two days in a row is a huge coincidence.
It really started to throw me off when, on the third day, I got an email from Missouri saying I got in. My number two school. I was so excited but really confused about getting acceptance letters from three schools in a matter of three days.
From my complaining a few days prior about not getting anywhere to this, I realized that the quicker the applications are done, the more pressure is taken off.

In the double portion of Behar-Bechukotai, God gave Moses commandments. Does BBYO fit into those commandments?
