Israel is a highly developed country when it comes to market economy and technological equipment. The most prestigious equipment they own is the Iron Dome. Not only is it prestigious but it's significant in the lives of many, especially during the Israel-Hamas war.

The Iron Dome was developed in 2011 by Israel with help from the United States. The Iron Dome is not a large cover over the country, more over is individual “batteries” intricately placed through Israel. There are ten batteries spread currently to protect citizens and the community, but a total of fifteen are supposedly coming in the near future.

How does the Iron Dome work?

  1. Enemy rockets, missiles, mortars, or drones are fired towards Israel.
  2. The radar system detects and sends information about foreign objects to the control center (can detect from 2.5-43 miles away).
  3. Control system estimates impact location and if foreign objects will strike inhabited districts.
  4. The launcher fires a missile to destroy the threat.
  5. Israeli projectile intercepts threat in the air and then destroys.
