I’ve always been interested in cameras. But in recent months, I see all the time how more and more people are picking up photography. So, I thought to myself, since everyone else is doing it, why not me? So, that’s what I did. And, since I was just elected as NSR’s 67th regional Aleph Mazkir, I figured I might as well since it was already in the job description. My dad was nice enough to let me borrow his camera and started teaching me the basics, what all the buttons did, and how changing different settings would alter the shot. Starting to get the hang of it and practicing on essentially anything I could find, I figured I was ready for the first event, and I was! The first regional event I was taking photos at was our kickoff Shabbat. The pictures came out clear, and it was easy to show how great of a time everyone was having. And I had a blast doing it. Everyone was coming up to me and asking for photos, and I felt so important holding a camera in my hand. This got me thinking, “Is this what every photographer feels like?” I think the answer is mixed, but I love taking pictures so much. My favorite type of photography I've done so far is sports photography. With NSR’s AZAA flag football league coming to a close(my team lost. I swear, I’m not mad), I had the opportunity to get some epic shots, highlighting the thrill the players had while making an epic play. Even though I am still one hundred percent a beginner photographer, using it for BBYO purposes has helped me love it that much more, and I can’t wait to see where my camera takes me in the future.
