From November 17 to 19, the Nassau Suffolk Region gathered in New Jersey for our biannual convention. While here, we celebrated Shabbat as a community, embraced our Jewish culture, participated in spirit challenges, and made new lifelong friends. Here’s what some members of NSR had to say about it:

“It was really cool being able to help shape the younger members and have an impact on them, while also being able to share the brotherhood that I gained through older members that had come before me and current friends. I loved selling donuts at Shuk to benefit my chapter. I make bank” - Danny Strogach, Samson AZA #1656

“My favorite part of the convention was Separates and Spirit because I really felt like Separates made me connect with NSR's Regional Board, and Spirit is just so funny! Overall, I always have the best time at convention and it's so fun!” - Nikki Arnell, Integrity BBG #0461

“This convention was definitely one of my favorites, as I made so many new friends while making new memories with some old friends as well. Some of my top memories included running an elective program with one of my best friends since 2021 and becoming closer with some of my fellow brothers in the region during separates and spirit. Now, I just can’t wait for spring convention” - Reid Schwartz Legacy AZA #1545

“I really liked steering because it gave me a chance to interact with a lot of people and really get more involved with BBYO” - Noah Lucas, Masada AZA #2417

“One of my favorite parts of Winter Convention was BBG separates. We had a meaningful ceremony, and it was amazing to be with all of the BBGs while listening to the regional board members share their stories. Separates are definitely one of the best BBG traditions” - Juliett Reiff, Genesis BBG #2350

“My favorite part of the convention was BBG separates and Spirit! It brings everybody together and creates that special bond that is one of the most meaningful parts of BBYO!” - Sophie Mink, Ahavah BBG #2303

“The best convention yet!” - Lindsay Altman, Summit BBG #2299

This convention exceeded the expectations of all members and was truly a weekend to remember. The coordinators, Ava Kleinberg from L’chaim BBG #2148 and Matthew Margolis from Masada AZA #2417 did an incredible job overseeing steerers and planning and managing the region. For those members who were fortunate enough to attend, it was the experience of a lifetime.
