Identity
Strength In Unity, Unity In Strength
It is in the most difficult moments when the power of unity is most necessary. As the world struggles with uncertainty and conflict, the significance of coming together as a community becomes ever more important. This feeling particularly comes to life as BBYO celebrates its hundredth anniversary, an occasion that brought together thousands of Jewish teens from all around the world.
With over 3500 members together in one space, the energy and excitement at this event are visible. For many people, IC represents more than just a gathering, it is a celebration of identity, heritage, and shared values. It is a testament to the strength of the Jewish community, even in the hardest situations.
With a war of over 5 months going on in Israel, the importance of solidarity and connection with the global Jewish community cannot be overstated. As our brothers and sisters in Israel endure their country’s, our country’s cruel new reality, it is upon us to stand by their side, offering as much support as possible to our Israeli friends and relatives.
In times of crisis, it is easy to feel isolated and powerless. However, events like IC serve as a powerful reminder that we are not alone. We are part of a huge family, bound together by a shared history, culture, and destiny, “Eretz Israel”. By coming together, we reaffirm our commitment to follow the values that unite us as Jews.
For decades, BBYO has played an essential role in shaping the lives of Jewish youth around the world, instilling in us a sense of pride and belonging. Through its programs, initiatives, and efforts, BBYO continues to empower the next generation of Jewish leaders, equipping us with the tools and resources we need to make a positive impact on the world.
After gathering in Orlando for this historic event, the takeaway is that we need to grab the opportunity to celebrate our shared heritage, embrace our collective strength, and recommit ourselves to the values of unity, justice, and peace. Together, we can overcome any difficult circumstance like this one, and use it to learn and build a brighter future for generations to come.
In the words of Ze'ev Jabotinsky, founder of the Zionist youth movement Beitar, "Strength in unity, unity in strength." Let us regard these words as we embark on this journey together, united in purpose and determination, as proud members of the BBYO family.

In the double portion of Behar-Bechukotai, God gave Moses commandments. Does BBYO fit into those commandments?
