Council Kickoff in North Star
Council kickoff has always been a highlight of the BBYO for me. This year was no different. North Star took to Urban Air, an adventure park featuring trampolines, go-karts, rock climbing, a ropes course, and more.
When planning this event, we wanted to find a place where teens could partake in different activities to meet their interest. We also wanted to ensure that throughout the program, council board members could hangout with different teens and educate them on everything BBYO has to offer. Urban Air was the perfect place to meet these goals. I chatted about BBYO summer programs while doing flips on trampolines and explained what makes IC so awesome while zipping through the go-karting track. I believe this is what made our event so successful.
Prior to the program, the board focused on getting a large number of attendees for our first event of the year. We utilized Instagram, WhatsApp, texting, and emailing to do this. And our promotion worked out! We had over 50 members and prospects attend the kickoff. Following the event, we made sure to reach out to prospects who attended and encouraged them to become a member. By the week after kickoff, we had gained over ten new members who decided to join our North Star family. This event was a huge step for North Star, and I can’t wait to see the rest of the incredible programs to come this year!
