This summer, I was lucky enough to attend CLTC 3. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and while I could talk about every detail for hours and hours, I'm instead going to share my top 3s:

TOP 3s OF 3LTC

Programs:

  1. Mock Chapters: My absolute favorite thing CLTC did was separate us into small mock chapters. I was terrified at first, but my chapter became more of a home than I could have imagined. Being in chapters helped us learn about programming, planning events, leadership, and, most importantly, teamwork. I learned so much in my chapter that I am excited to bring it back to my region. I love every single person in my chapter, and Bayit V’lev BBG will always be a home to me.
  2. Havdalah Song Circle: Another of my favorite activities was the Havdalah after Shabbat. This was the activity of the night, and everybody would circle up to sing songs and connect with each other. This activity showed me how important the people I met are to me, and a lot of the time was spent hugging each other.
  3. Stargazing: Some nights before bed, we had the option to lie outside and stargaze. This was a simple activity, but genuinely one of the best ones. I loved being able to relax and hang out with my friends before we had to head back to our bunks. Our first night stargazing led me to getting closer to other BBGs, and it helped me feel more connected to the earth as well as the people around me.

Songs:

  1. House of Gold: My session song House of Gold is going to be the top song. From tentatively learning the song at our first song session to singing my heart out with everyone on the last night, House of Gold found a forever place in my heart.
  2. Mi Chamocha: This is a prayer everyone has known their whole lives, but CLTC gave me a new love for it. Doing the accompanying hand motions and giggling with my friends made this song a really fun experience.
  3. One Day: This is a classic song all jews know and love. Singing and adding in the little ad-libs was so fun, and I loved singing such meaningful lyrics with all the people around me.

Canteen Snacks:

  1. Diet Coke: I drank way too many of these while at CLTC, but they were always SO GOOD. Somehow, Canteen kept them perfectly cold and crisp.
  2. Cosmic Brownies: 10/10 snack, always tasted so good. I also had way too many of these.
  3. Gushers: Something about being at CLTC made these taste way better than usual. Maybe it was the 2-for-1 punch deal, or maybe it was the sugar overload, but I ate so many gushers.

The list of what I loved about CLTC is long, but these top 3s especially make me smile when I think about all the memories I made. And I know I’ll treasure my 3LTC experience forever.
