Being on board is NOT the only way to be involved in BBYO! Just showing up to events is a big part of being an active participant in this movement. But if you’re looking for more and either lost an election or just don’t want to be on board, here are the best ways to get involved!

1. Chapter chair- This is a great way to gain more leadership experience within your chapter- you get to work alongside a board member and learn more about a position you’re interested in. It also helps you stay involved within the chapter and get your name out there. I am currently my chapter’s Sunshine Girl, and I’m working on big/little programs with our MIT Mom for an upcoming event! 
2. Regional Leadership Network (RLN)- Being involved in an RLN is a great experience. Working with regional board members is so much fun, and you can really learn so much from it. It’s an amazing way to get opportunities within the region, both by helping with your assigned roles as the RLN team and helping out your region! For the last two years, I’ve been in SJR’s Press Corps RLN, helping with making TikToks, posts/flyers for our social media accounts, and other fun projects assigned by the Regional Mazkirim. I also served on the New Member Team last year, where I worked alongside the Morim to make the MITs/AITs feel welcome in the region throughout the year.
3. International Leadership Network (ILN)- The ILN is an amazing way to get involved internationally, and it’s really what you make of it – you can apply for one committee and go to calls once in a while, or you can apply for six and go to every call you can! I am currently involved in five ILN divisions, and recently, my favorites have been Press Corps (journalism) and Giving BBYO Day Hype Squad (social media team). There really is a place in the ILN for anyone with the range of committees, cohorts, and coordinators available to apply for.
4. Convention steering- Another awesome way to be involved on the regional level. Steering takes a lot of time and energy, so if there’s ever a time to do it, a term where you do not hold a chapter board position is definitely the time to do it. I just steered my region’s fall convention in November--being able to lead programs and promote it alongside the regional board was so much fun and a great way to gain more experience!
