The Magic of CLTC Song Circles
If you’re a younger member, I’m sure you’ve heard older members trying to convince you to go on CLTC. They talk about the life changing experiences and friendships that are made, which is true, but I’m here to talk about what makes those friendships so strong. Song circles. We had multiple throughout my 13 day experience on CLTC, whether it was Shabbat, Havdalah, the last night of camp, or a random Tuesday. Each one was incredible. All of the BBGs and AZAs would gather, put our arms on each other’s shoulders, and sing. Some favorites on my session were Viva la Vida, Riptide, Rivers and Roads, One Day, and our CLTC One 2025 song, Close Behind. These song sessions were one of my favorite BBYO memories because of the bond that was automatically created and shared between my brothers and sisters. It was a time for all of us to be present with each other in nature and connect on a deeper, more vulnerable level than just “where are you from.” It was a way for all of us to soak up the magic that is CLTC, and it allowed us to learn what that feeling is to bring back to our region and chapters’ song circles.
