LEADS Track Recap - Style and Strategy: The Art and Fashion of Business
For my LEADS Track activity, I was given Style and Strategy: The Art and Fashion of Business.
I've been looking forward to this for so long, and I was so excited. This program was held at the Redline Contemporary Art Museum, and it was such an amazing experience!! Being my first-ever IC, I didn’t know what to expect. But so far, IC has exceeded all my expectations, and my time at the Redline was amazing.
To start out, we got an hour to explore the museum and all of its interesting exhibits. I loved observing all the cool art and making new friends from all over the world! I loved the freedom we had to explore for ourselves. Next, we learned about some fashion trends in Israel and how different countries have their own signature outfit. We then split into groups and designed our own unique outfit for Israel! We had to keep in mind the meaning behind each aspect that we added to the outfit. After creating our masterpieces, one person from each group went up to explain their design! My group used olive green fabric, lace, and more.
Finally, guest speakers, Ian Lopatin, co-founder of Spiritual Gangster, and Karla Martinez, Editor in chief of Vogue Mexico and Latin America, came to talk to us!! They answered questions about their career journeys, how Judaism relates to their work, and more. It was very interesting to hear their journeys and advice for us! Then, they gave out BBYO hats for us, which was so nice!! I will remember this special experience forever, and I am so lucky to have participated in it.
