Celebrating a Fantastic Fall Fest with the BBGs of NSR
Nassau Suffolk Region had the most amazing start to the fall season with our Suffolk Fall Fest! On Sunday, November 17th, all BBGs from NSR had the opportunity to attend Fall Fest. This annual event is always a blast! This year, I was lucky enough to be one of the steerers (one of the people who helps plan) for this event. Fall Fest was led by NSR’s amazing S’ganit, Rifka, as well as a team of passionate and excited steerers to help her lead the way.
The event kicked off with a mocktail hour where BBGs socialized with one another while enjoying some delicious drinks, including sparkling cider and grape juice. Afterwards, we split into groups for cookie decorating. Everyone had so much fun decorating and talking with one another! After this, BBGs were split into four stations, each led by two steerers. My friend Zoey and I ran a station for writing letters to IDF soldiers. Members were able to reflect and write about why they were thankful for the IDF and then had the chance to decorate their letters if they wanted to. This station really resonated with me, and I thought it was a good way to incorporate Judaism into our fall festivities. The other stations included bracelet making, where there were adorable fall beads we could use, candy apple making, and candle making, where you could choose from several delicious fall scents and colors. These stations were definitely a hit and kept all the BBGs engaged throughout the event! We ended with mummy (scarecrow) wrapping, which was so much fun and the perfect way to end such an awesome event!
Suffolk Fall Fest was definitely a major success, and I'm so grateful to have been a part of the planning process!

In the double portion of Behar-Bechukotai, God gave Moses commandments. Does BBYO fit into those commandments?
