What I Took Away From Full Perlman
When I signed up for a summer program this past summer, I didn’t think it would change my life forever. Everyone always says how life-changing summer programs are, but I never really listened. I just thought it would be a fun experience.
?So everyone convinced me to sign up for ILTC. I was super nervous, not knowing if I would make friends or how it would be. Looking back, I realized how glad I am that I went. After the three weeks of ILTC, I wanted to stay longer; I didn’t want to go home. ?
I ended up staying full Perlman and that was the best decision of my life. Kallah not only brought me friendships and memories that would last a lifetime but also a new perspective on Judaism.
I was kind of nervous about staying because I wasn’t super religious, and I didn’t fully know what it would be like. I did know that it was more focused on Judaic programming, but that’s really it. ?
Coming back from doing full Perlman, I had learned so much. I learned more about how to update my chapter and grow it, and I also learned more about Judaism.
I am so unbelievably happy and lucky to have gotten to stay to do full Perlman. I came back ready to grow our chapter as Morah, and I did just that.
Because I went to full Perlman, I learned so many things such as how to grow your chapter, keep it stable, recruit more people without spamming them, write good code, and make sure your board stays on top of things.
Kallah also gave me many opportunities to have deep conversations with people, and that truly changed my perspective on many things.
When I came home, I was a different person. But for the better. I was much more caring toward others, and I truly considered the other sides of things in everything. I not only became a better chapter Morah from Perlman, but also a better person.
