The Perks of Joining IC Press Corps
This year, I had the amazing opportunity to serve on the IC 2026 Press Corps squad as a Shofar journalism lead! I was so excited to lead this team, not just because I wanted to share my experiences at IC, but because I knew that my experience would teach about leadership, journalism, and community. Even before IC began, my fellow leads and I oversaw a variety of different publications from teens from all over the world. I got to see an insight into the different experiences of my team and support them as they wrote amazing articles and stories!
Once at IC, every member of the IC Press Corps was invited to a meet-up in the Press Corps lounge, where there were snacks, activities, and people to meet and reunite with! The lounge was definitely a huge perk at IC, especially the snacks! That Friday, I was able to write about my time at my sports track, figure skating, and tell readers about the incredible opportunities that IC had to offer.
Joining the IC Press Corps gave me leadership experience that I otherwise would have never received. It allowed me to connect with lots of teens from across the order, many of whom became my good friends. When I applied for IC Press Corps, I had no idea that I would be chosen to lead the Shofar journalism team, but I am so lucky that I was! I would 100% recommend signing up for Press Corps for IC Baltimore in 2027! You never know what opportunities you might get!
