In no particular order, here are just a few of the quotes I have collected on my phone and why I like them:

#1. “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” - Socrates

This one is really good because it helps me stay grounded and humble. I think a lot of people sometimes need to get off their high horse, and this quote is simple and easy to understand.

#2. “In the joy of others lies our own, in the progress of others rests our own, in the good of others abides our own, know this to be the key to peace and happiness.” - Holiness Pramukh Swami Manara

I saw this quote while celebrating Diwali at my grandma's Hindu temple, where there was a showcase of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Manara. Pramukh Swami Manara was the guru and president of Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), a branch of Hinduism. He was seen as the 5th spiritual successor of Swaminarayan. Followers of BAPS believed him to be a manifestation of "Akshar," the form of the eternal abode of God. As Akshar, he was also in constant communion with God. This is another quote that reminds me to be present, humble, and show humility.

#3. "Every man's life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another."- Ernest Hemingway.

Ernest Hemingway was trying to remind us that people remember the actions you commit over what you look like, and that in the end, the only thing that differentiates us from one another is what we do with our lives.

#4. “Leave behind a world of good, not a world of goods” - Pope Francis

This one reminds me that people will remember your actions longer than your physical things.

#5. “How you do one thing is how you should be doing everything”-Unknown

I think this is just a good reminder to always put forth 100% effort in everything you do.

#6. “Fear doesn't stop death; it stops life.” -Unknown

This quote reminds me to live life a little bit, and that always worrying about something will not allow me to enjoy the good things in life.

#7. “When you take the elevator up to reach the top, please don't forget to send the elevator back down, so that someone else can take it to the top”-Dikembe Mutombo

We live in a dog-eat-dog world where everyone thinks that they can't help others to the top, but that's not true because the best feeling in the world is when both you and someone you care about both reach their goals.

#8. “Better to die standing than to live on your knees."- Emiliano Zapata

In a world of injustice everywhere, there is always something to stand up for. It's especially easy with social media being such a large part of advocacy.

#9. “When the road gets bumpy, you don't leave the car. You put your seat belt on.” - Unknown

This is good if you need a reminder not quit on your goals, and when things get difficult, to double down and keep grinding.

#10. “A semicolon represents a sentence the author could have ended, but chose not to. Your story isn't over, keep going.” - Unknown

This one also has the theme of not giving up when times are tough.
