Area and Volume Between Curves
I got a 75 on a math test.
I’m in calc, and I missed a lot of classes because of IC and IC sickness.
If you know me, you know that I’m very opinionated about school, grades, and what they’re really worth, but a 75 still sucks.
My physics teacher unironically solved the problem.
It was the last day before break, he knew we’d never get anything done that day, so he took us outside.
We went to our school’s lake and stood around for a few moments.
He pointed our attention to the clouds, the water, the wind, the weather, and he fell silent.
A few moments later, he said:
“You know, we’re all floating on a rock through space right now.”
Then he took us inside.
That moment made me realize that while my math test, and other things, sucked, they’re insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
There were many moments at CLTC where we spoke about being present, and I truly felt present at the lake. That simply being there was what matters, and it still is.
