Reality TV is one of those things that we all somehow get sucked into. We watch people live together, compete, make friendships, have arguments, fall into ridiculous situations, and somehow turn everyday moments into something we need to know more about. And while BBYO obviously isn't a reality show, sometimes it definitely feels like it could be one. Think about it: every region has its own personality, and every International Convention has its funny moments. There are the people who somehow know everyone, the person who is always five minutes late, the friend who has a camera out for literally everything, and the person who can turn the smallest situation into a full story.

So, if BBYO were a reality show, which region would be the main character?

Would it be the region with the biggest personality? The one that somehow ends up at the center of every conversation? Or maybe the region that seems quiet at first but ends up stealing every scene? Which region would be the iconic best friend? Which one would be the comedian? Who would be the one constantly causing chaos and ultimately making the show more fun? Which region would have the most dramatic IC entrance? And, most importantly, who would be the narrator telling us everything that is happening?

The best part about reality TV is that everyone has a role, whether they planned for it or not. There is always someone making everyone laugh, someone keeping the group together, and someone who somehow finds themselves in the middle of every story. BBYO is kind of the same way. Everyone brings something different to the experience, and those different personalities are what make programs, conventions, regions, and chapters memorable. Of course, BBYO isn't actually scripted. There isn't a producer deciding what happens next or a camera crew following us around. The funniest moments are usually the ones nobody planned for. The inside joke that lasts a lifetime, the random friendship that forms at a summer program, or the story that gets retold at every BBYO event afterward.

So if your BBYO experience were a reality show, what role would you play? And if you could cast the entire International Order, which region would be the main character? Which would steal the spotlight? And who would get the iconic “previously on the International Order of the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization…” voiceover?
