This program is heavily subsidized by the Pittsburgh Federation. Families must meet the Federation's eligibility requirements.

BBYO is also a proud partner of RootOne, which provides $3,600 travel vouchers to eligible Jewish teens toward their trip balance.

Yes! Assuming the teen meet the Pittsburgh Federation's eligibility requirements and applies for—and receives—a $3,600 RootOne voucher, the final cost for the trip, excluding flights, is only $1,200 total.

Lodging, meals, guided tours, program activities, ground transportation, security and escort, laundry, and basic medical insurance are all covered by the $1,200 program cost. Flight cost is not included and will be a separate cost for families.

That’s expected! Upon registration, families will initially see the full balance. Once eligibility for the Pittsburgh Federation's subsidy is confirmed, the discount will be added. The $3,600 RootOne voucher will appear later—after you apply, are approved, and complete RootOne’s required steps.

There’s no separate application for the Pittsburgh Federation subsidy—once a family registers and eligibility is verified, the discount is applied automatically.

Jewish teens currently in grades 9–12 who meet the Pittsburgh Federation's eligibility requirements can apply for this subsidized trip. Teens outside this area are welcome to join Israel Journey through one of our non-partner departure groups at the standard rate.

That’s the goal! If enough participants register, this will be a dedicated Pittsburgh bus traveling together throughout Israel. Teens will have a chance to form lasting local friendships while exploring Israel as part of the larger Israel Journey program community.

This departure will run July 13–August 3, 2027.
