The Peloton Community: Not Just an Exercise Bike
Everyone has a daily routine; wake up, brush your teeth, go to school, etc. But there is one thing that I have recently become very passionate about, and that is Peloton!
Peloton is an at-home workout company that sells treadmills and stationary bikes. This equipment features a touch screen where you have the ability to watch live and pre-recorded classes. According to Peloton, these workouts are studio-grade, high-intensity experiences that you can take from anywhere in the world. There are over 30 Peloton instructors that you can choose from, each with different personalities, music preferences, and difficulties. There are so many classes to choose from, starting from short beginner classes to 90-minute endurance rides, and everything in between. There are even music and artist-specific classes, like pop rides, country rides, even The Weekend and Hamilton rides.
The instructors are truly a vital part of the Peloton experience. Every instructor is different, so the more classes you take, the more you discover what you like. One of my favorite instructors is Cody Rigsby, who is known for his fun style, pop rides, and his love for Brittney Spears. The instructors are what keep you motivated throughout the class; pushing you and encouraging you to do your best.
The highlight of this company is not just about fitness, but the community that comes with it. During rides, there is a real-time leaderboard during your fitness classes that shows other user’s stats, allows you to make friends, and even high-five other people that are riding ‘with’ you. The community and camaraderie in the Peloton family are what make it truly stand out. The community is so strong that I have bonded with people within the BBYO movement through Peloton! Some of my good friends I met by talking about my favorite instructors and my favorite rides. I have even created a BBG leaderboard group that anyone with a Peloton account can join! (#BBGsofBBYO) The strong Peloton community often reminds me of the worldwide BBYO movement that we all know and love.
Peloton has become an important part of my routine. Not only is it a fun way to exercise, but I look forward to it every day!
