About Central & Eastern Europe Adventure
Some of Europe's most fascinating stories can be found in the streets of Warsaw, the Jewish neighborhoods of Kraków, the magnificent synagogues of Budapest, and the historic cities of Prague and Vienna. Central & Eastern Europe Adventure brings together five countries for an extended journey through the cultures, communities, and landscapes that have shaped this part of the world. Explore centuries of Jewish heritage, visit important sites of remembrance, and experience the traditions and architecture that make each destination unique.
The journey is also filled with opportunities to have fun, try something new, and experience Europe beyond its famous landmarks. Hike through Poland's beautiful Tatra Mountains, paddle along scenic waterways, venture beneath Budapest on a caving adventure, and visit magnificent castles in Austria and Germany. Along the way, celebrate Shabbat, connect with Jewish communities, and share experiences with fellow Jewish teens that bring new perspectives to your own identity and heritage.
What Makes This Combination Special?
Central & Eastern Europe Adventure combines two distinct BBYO Passport experiences into one extended journey. Central Europe Discovery takes teens through Poland and Hungary, placing particular emphasis on Jewish history, meaningful Holocaust education, Polish cultural traditions, and outdoor adventures in the Tatra Mountains. From Warsaw and Kraków to Zakopane and Budapest, this portion of the journey offers opportunities to explore the past while experiencing the communities and landscapes of Central Europe today.
Eastern Europe Discovery broadens the experience through Hungary, Austria, Czechia, and Germany, where Jewish heritage meets beautiful European cities, royal palaces, and exciting activities. Explore historic Jewish neighborhoods in Budapest and Prague, experience Vienna's cultural traditions, and discover Bavaria's magnificent castles and Alpine landscapes.
Together, these programs offer an opportunity to see more of Europe while experiencing two complementary perspectives on its history and culture. From meaningful encounters with Jewish heritage to outdoor adventures and hands-on experiences, each program adds something different to a summer filled with discovery, connection, and shared experiences.
