About Central Europe Discovery

Embark on a captivating journey through Central Europe, where the vibrant histories and diverse cultures of Germany, Czechia, Austria, Slovakia, and Poland come to life. From Berlin’s iconic landmarks and poignant memorials to the medieval charm of Prague and the imperial elegance of Vienna, you’ll explore cities that have shaped the course of history. Discover Berlin’s Cold War secrets, paddleboard along Prague’s Vltava River, and soak in Vienna’s grandeur with a Danube River cruise. Beyond cityscapes, you’ll venture into the scenic landscapes of the Bohemian countryside, the Lower Tatras Mountains, and the picturesque town of Zakopane.

Trip Overview

We have provided the following trip overview to give you a better sense of this experience. The actual program may vary, and an itinerary will be distributed no later than two weeks before the program begins. Even after the itinerary is sent, adjustments may still be made in coordination with tour guides and the tour operator—both leading up to and during the program—based on local conditions.

Group Travel

Travel with confidence knowing that BBYO organizes supervised group flights to and from Europe. Our staff are present at departure airports to greet teens and help them feel welcome right away, and they accompany each group throughout the journey—both on arrival and on the return trip home. Berlin, Germany

Begin in Berlin, where you'll visit Sanssouci Gardens, Teufelsberg, the Brandenburg Gate, and powerful Holocaust Memorials. Tour the Jewish Quarter including the New Synagogue, Old Jewish Cemetery, and Rosenstrasse Women's Memorial. Explore the Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery and connect with local Jewish teens over dinner.

Prague, Czechia

Discover the beauty of Prague with visits to the Jewish Quarter, Franz Kafka’s home, and sites of the “Prague Golem.” Enjoy panoramic views from Petrin Hill, walk across the Charles Bridge, view Prague Castle, and paddleboard on the Vltava River. Experience Shabbat at a local synagogue, tour Old Town Square, and attend a concert at the Spanish Synagogue.

Vienna, Austria

In Vienna, go white-water rafting at the Vienna Watersports Arena, tour Schönbrunn Palace, and visit Leopoldstadt and the Stadttempel. Learn at Judenplatz, the Monument Against War and Fascism, and enjoy time at Prater Amusement Park and the Seegrotte Caves.

Kraków and Zakopane, Polan

Hike the Lower Tatras Mountains, relax at Bukovina’s thermal pools, and visit Muzeum Oscypka. In Kraków, explore Kazimierz, the Galicia Museum, and Oscar Schindler Factory. Visit Auschwitz-Birkenau and reflect at the Oswiecim Synagogue.

Warsaw, Poland

In Warsaw, explore the Warsaw Ghetto, Umschlagplatz, Route of Heroes, and Rappaport Memorial. Engage with Polish students, enjoy a kayak tour, a campfire, and celebrate with a final night out in Old Town Warsaw and a group wrap-up in Saxon Garden.
