Buried beneath volcanic ash following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE, the city has been remarkably preserved for nearly 2,000 years. Walk through its ancient streets, homes, temples, and public spaces to see how people lived, worked, and gathered in one of history's most extraordinary archaeological sites.
