Trip Overview
We have provided the following trip overview to give you a better sense of this experience. The actual program may vary, and an itinerary will be distributed no later than two weeks before the program begins. Even after the itinerary is sent, adjustments may still be made in coordination with tour guides and the tour operator—both leading up to and during the program—based on local conditions.
Group Travel
Travel with confidence knowing that BBYO organizes supervised group flights to and from Israel. Our staff are present at departure airports to greet teens and help them feel welcome right away, and they accompany each group throughout the journey—both on arrival and on the return trip home. Jerusalem
Begin your journey with a scenic hike through the Jerusalem Hills, followed by lunch at Mahane Yehuda and pool time to relax and refresh. Bond with your group over dinner and an opening discussion about visiting Israel post-October 7. Take in the panoramic views from the Haas Promenade, walk through the Old City’s Zion Gate, explore the rooftops and ancient squares of the Jewish Quarter, and reflect at the Western Wall (Kotel). Wrap up the experience with a group evening on Ben Yehuda Street.
Northern Israel
Explore the City of David Excavations and cool off in Hezekiah's Tunnel. Travel north to the Caesarea archeological complex, marveling at Herod's Roman amphitheater and palace on the beach. Along the way, view the Sea of Galilee and prepare for a special Shabbat experience. Spend Shabbat relaxing with BBYO-led activities and enjoy a spirited Havdalah and group evening out.
Adventure continues at Aqua Kef, Israel's floating water park, and through a Za'atar workshop at Sindyanna of Galilee. At the Garmachin Center, enjoy a traditional Ethiopian dinner and cultural exchange. Hike Mount Gilboa and Nahal HaKibbutzim, then swim in the spring pools of Sachne. Participate in a mifgash (cross-cultural encounter) with Maccabi Tzair teens in Pardes Chana.
Volunteer to make food for soldiers, then step into history at Atlit Detention Camp. Enjoy a surfing class and beach time along the coast, capped off with dinner by the sea.
Tel Aviv
Tour the Bahai Gardens on Mt. Carmel and visit the Ahmeddiya Mosque. Meet a local imam and enjoy a food tour along the Louis Boardwalk. At Hostages Family Square, witness the resilience of waiting families. Meet a survivor of the Nova Music Festival and reflect as a group with a staff-led session.
Visit Sderot to hear personal testimonies from residents and displaced teens at Kibbutz Magan. Pay tribute at the Nova Music Festival Memorial Site, then return to Tel Aviv for a BBYO Alumni Gathering.
Continue with a visit to ANU: Museum of the Jewish People, shop and eat in the Carmel Market, and stroll the Nahalat Binyamin street festival. Explore LGBTQ+ culture with the Rainbow TLV Tour and see street art in the Florentin neighborhood. Participate in Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat programming, then close out the week with a Guru Zuzu silent rave.
Central Israel
Honor the past at Machon Ayalon, then sample local fare in Be’er Sheva before exploring the Ramon Crater. Stay at a desert kibbutz in the Arava Valley with a BBQ dinner and pool party.
Enjoy snorkeling in the Red Sea, beach time, banana boating, and a cruise. Learn about Eilat as a place of refuge, then tour a kibbutz and travel to the Judean Desert to float in the Dead Sea at Ein Bokek. In Arad, experience a camel trek and Bedouin tent feast at Kfar Hanokdim.
Masada and Jerusalem
Hike up Masada for a sunrise tour, descend the Snake Path, and cool off in Ein Gedi National Park. Back in Jerusalem, design trip t-shirts, visit with family, and rest before a powerful final stretch.
Explore democracy through a Junior Knesset workshop at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center and engage in interfaith dialogue at Feel Beit. Volunteer with Tachlit or Pantry Packers, and spend time relaxing in the park.
Honor lives at Mount Herzl, explore Mahane Yehuda, and mark your final Shabbat at the Kotel. Unwind at Cinema City, attend a seminar with Neil Lazarus, and reflect on your experience with your group.
Conclude your time in Israel at the Nalagaat Center in Jaffa, then tour the Jaffa Seaport and shop the Jaffa Flea Market. Celebrate with a final group dinner and tree planting ceremony at Neot Kedumim Park.
